In my opinion it's not at all a mandir first of all. It's a natural rock formation, kind of a cave. It is situated at least or more than 500 feet from ground level of Banswara. After a very steep climb one reaches to this place. Good part is that vehicles like truck or bus can even reach easily just upto this mandir. So they actually created or build some construction just to cover those natural mountains and made it a lord Shiv mandir. It's on the Banswara-Ratlam Road near Kagdi pickup outside the city. This mandir or natural cave can not be judged from outside while on the road. When one reaches infront of the Shivling mandir, only then the real beauty of the nature can be felt. The construction again is in several different parts at different intervals of time. While i was there i saw nearby parts of mountain being broken so as to make proper construction. Other part of construction include, accommodation for those living at mandir promises and much more. Overall a very beautiful place to hang out, relaxing, happy moments or just peace of mind. They have tried to make garden and green place as the surrounding itself is of that kind, forest area. Overall extremely cosy place to hang out. Neat and clean. Do visit once with your family, friends, or loved ones.

Madareshwar Shiva Temple is located on the eastern part of Banswara inside a natural cave on a hill. During the occasion of Mahashivratri, Rudra Abhishek pooja is organised at this temple. This temple serves as the inception point for Kavadi yatra, which ends at the Baneshwar Temple. The yatra includes fetching the water from Mahi River and subsequently worshipping Lord Shiva with that water. Situated in proximity of Banswara district headquarters, this temple can be reached by hiring tempo or taxi from Banswara-Ratlam road. Mandareshwar, Mandareshwar Rd, Banswara, Rajasthan 327001, India
