Mancotta Heritage Chang Bungalow - Hotel in Dibrugarh, Chring Gaon - Dibrugarh, India

It's a beautiful place to stay. The staffs are well behaved and always responsive with smiling face . We stayed in Dihang & Siang suit from 23rd May 2022 to 26th May 2022 . From the balcony it's a amazing view of tea estate. The British architecture have been maintained very well. During our stay we had Assamese meal which was really great . But the property needs to improve lots of things 1 . The entrance from the main road is very bad, it's mud road. If it's raining , is very difficult to walk from there , In the evening it's very difficult to walk as there is no light , you need mobile torch. The lights they have from their main gate it's not at all bright, looks like it's for decoration. The property should maintain the road properly for the sake of guests. 2 . There is no signboard of hotel for entry from main road. So at night if you are coming from somewhere can easily missed the entrance 3. There is no tea/coffee maker in the room. as it's a basic requirement and amenity like other basic amenities. 4. I forgot to wear my slipper for a while and fell down as the wooden floor was very slippery . So walking in bare feet is very risky. Also the old rugs which they are using under breakfast and reception tables are not at all anti skid. 5. Bathroom has enough space to make a shower cubicle along with heritage style bath tub as it's very difficult for a aged person to go inside the bath tub and take shower, specially if someone has a problem with knees. 6. The water quality is very bad, it's red with lot of dirt . When I asked the staff they said it's because of iron presents in the water . The property should have filtration system as this water is not good for skin. We stayed for 3 days and didn't wash hair as we don't know this water will suit our hair or not. 7. Every room should have minimum 32" smart TV as again it's comes under besic amenities. If you are in a group it's fine but for a single family it's really boring evening as there nothing to do in the evening.. 8. Dihang ac needs to get replaced as it's a old window ac which doesn't have any remote and temperature control systems.

Colonial style bungalow with more than 160 years of glorious history. Surrounded by lush green tea estate with the same name provides a glorious stay and services. Food is great with fixed menu ranging from Continental, Chinese, Indian and Assamese cuisine. A best place to visit.

It is a plantation bungalow turned into commercial accommodation and the concern authority has been able to retain the flavour of colonial era quite well in form of architecture, manicured garden, surrounding lush green vegetation, overlooking tea garden in a way oozing out a lazy elegance that was part of colonial era. Its a best place to unwind oneself by soaking into the ambience. A leisurely walk into the factory and visit into the garden villages can be refreshing and add to its repertoire of amenities. Lily - she runs the show has shown exceptional friendliness and congenial traits that prime up the experiences.

Our travel group enjoyed staying here in December 2019. The place was clean and the service was exceptional. The food was delicious and well presented. The wait staff is very well trained

The Mancotta Tea Estate set in the outskirts of Dibrugarh, in Upper Assam. This iconic bungalow is built on stilts and showcases the colonial tea bungalow architecture to perfection. These structures, supported by stilts, are called "chang ghars" in the local dialect and the present day name of the "Mancotta Chang Bungalow" is derived thus.

Very beautiful cottage with fresh air. lots of Assamese indigenous food serve in the meal. Staff is very polite.
