Mambakkam Lake - Swimming lake in Sriperumbudur, Mambakkam - Chengalpattu, India

Peaceful location when compared to melakottaiyur lake, it's much better. Good lush green surrounding areas. Recommended for both families and couples as it's in the main road. Located : 1. While going towards Vandalur from Kelambakkam, From the main road turn left from Mambakkam bus stop, going straight within 2 km you can see this lake in the left hand side. 2. Another Mambakkam pond near SBI quarters after Ponmar stop in Mambakkam Medavakkam stop. I came in the evening with tea and snacks . Summer time half of the pond will be full but easy to walk. Rainy time difficult to walk and two wheeler won't go inside. Go through my photos if you have missed out this place . Or else go through my videos if you're further interested to hang out here. Serene and calm place... On weekends we can see people fishing on lake shore.. water birds visit the lake during winter season.. it will dry up during summer and gets full in rainy season.. it's in the middle of residential area.

It's a fresh water lake provides drinking water to all near by surroundings . If you are nearby u can go to this place to have a morning walk or cycling for a fresh breeze and to watch some birds play there ...... Near by place for a birder too ....

Amazing bird watching site particularly a cloudy day adds an additional attraction.

Nice place to see. You'll be able to relax and enjoy the atmosphere here. Calm and cool lake view place. Even in hot summer you'll get cool breeze in this place. Nice place to live rather than living in a crowded and polluted city region.
