Beautiful place... But lonely place.. Sometimes looks terrific when gone alone
Mama Bhanja Dargah is a religious place of worship on the top of Mama Bhanja Mountain. Though this is a religious place of worship, this is also well known as a trekking location amongst all the trekkers and mountain climbing enthusiasts. When we visited there was a lot of fog and it was a very beautiful experience. Usually when we visit this dargah, there is a huge endless and one of its kind view of the Thane city mainly the Lokmanyanagar, Wagle Estate area, Dnyaneshwar Nagar area and also some part of the pokhran road regions. This is a part of nature and when it's fog and rains it is no less than heaven.
Beautiful trail experience specially during monsoon & then in winter... U can see beautiful sunrise from top of it in winter but need to be there b4 6.30 am. You can check your endurance & stamina by non stop trail from bottom to top..
It's good trek for beginners, Recommended to visit in monsoons as it gets waterfalls ponds everywhere,it's sometimes hard to find the entry but asking the local can help the most at that time.Wear full pants as half pants/shorts are not allowed on the right dargah,if you wore shorts you may get warnings from the local living up there. Very beautiful and calm place located near Thane, this is the very opposite site of Sanjay Gandhi national park. The view here is amazing might be tough for first timers, best time to visit is during rainy season, there are 2 ways to go here, one is via stairs and one is all the way from the forest....
Very good place for trekking in monsoon and winter. But start very early to avoid heat. Only disadvantage is no washroom for ladies. Beautiful view of Thane city and Sanjay Gandhi national parks with two lakes.
An easy to medium level hike from thane's Wagle estate offers mesmerizing view from the top which is a Dargah. Takes around an hour to reach the summit and it's not much difficult for novice. Offers view of national park's valley and abouts of borivali and Powai.
This was the first trek I ever went to and it was indeed magnificent experience. Trek is quite easy. It takes about one hour to reach on the top of the mountain. On the way, you will come across a waterfall!! It is located around 5-6km from Thane railway station. Great spot to refresh your soul during Monsoon.
