Makkithitta represents a lost tradition that one would find in the traveller's inns - A host actually investing himself in keeping his guests entertained. The whole family has dedicated themselves to taking care of the guest's needs. Mr. Bharath is continuing the fine tradition established by his father by arranging and personally involving in many entertaining activities. Definitely one of the best entertaining, safe, hygienic and tasty food serving holiday destinations ever. Worth several repeated visits.

Well, it was my first time in a homestay, and believe me, it was no less than a luxurious resort experience, added with super friendly owner and workers around the place. And the facilities we got here were worth more than the money we paid for. Everyone around there was really friendly, and they respected the privacy of anyone who was staying, and we never felt that they were judging us for any of the actions we took over there, which was really sweet. And the best part about the place was all the entertaining stuff we got to do over there, for example, table tennis, zip-lining, mud volley ball, shooting, etc., and the dogs were really cute and friendly; I'll never get tired of petting them. It is in a really isolated place, which is a good thing because it's so peaceful and we can enjoy nature's beauty all day long without any interruptions from the outside world. And talking about the food, I can't find a single flaw in it, whether it's about taste or hygiene, they never play around. It was pure vegetarian, and we all felt like we were eating at home. The transport system is really good. They understand all the safety protocols before doing anything and act according to them. Overall, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life so far.

We visited here during Dasara holidays & we loved our stay. Its a Budget home stay. They charged us Rs.2700 per person, which we felt was a little expensive looking at the rooms. But the view and weather was amazing, which was Paisa vasool. They have mud Water volley ball which was perfect for us & a small lake with a boat which our kids enjoyed. They have a small stream flowing near by which we can visit via the homestay itself ( I guess it joins the hemavathi river) The food is pure vegetarian ( not even egg is allowed ). They served us pure malnad style food which we all enjoyed alot. The hosts were very friendly, felt like a home only.

We booked the stay at Makkithitta Home Stay at last minute. The booking process was very smooth with Bharat giving full details about the stay, vegetarian food, places to see and activities. Almost finalized the dates in just one hours. Our stay at Makkithitta Home Stay was for 2 Nights. Location is very nice. The stay was very comfortable. The best part of the homestay was vegetarian only food made from fresh vegetables. Each breakfast, lunch and dinner included one local specialty, was healthy and delicious also. On top of this served nicely with care. Bharat also suggested and help plan list of close-by places that we could visit, giving full details of the place, time needed to cover the place and route planning. And now about activities at the Home Stay. Plenty of indoor games ( table tennis, carrom etc.). The Zipline will be very memorable. Kids and myself( initially reluctant to do this) enjoyed every bit of it. The boat ride in the lake was also very good. And best part of the stay is Mr. Tejpal(Bharat's father) spending time with us, giving brief history of home stay also made us play a game equally good for both adults and kids. Enjoyed every bit of it. Spent good time talking with other guests at Home Stay. Next day morning he also did Cards Magic. Everybody enjoyed this part. Overall, a memorable stay. Thanks to Bharat and team, Mr. Tejpal for sharing his experiences and spending time with all of us. Recommend this to every body who are looking forward to having some good time with family

We stayed in this homestay/resort for 3 days. The owner and his family are very kind, friendly & taken very good care of us. I would highly recommend to visit this homestay with family/close friends. Also we played couple of good activities and enjoyed a lot. Location is perfect for nature lover as you will get a view of mountain & greenery.

Great place to visit with friends and family. Food was hygienic and rooms were clean. The place offers a really scenic view and the activities are very enjoyable, especially zipline.

Located inside a private estate, reaching homestay is a bit adventurous. The road is not good (2-3 km) from the main road. There are many activities in the homestay. Great hospitality, nice atmosphere and malnad style food was really good.
