The place is not clean, it is too dirty by the local people as well some of the illiterate tourists they threw in the water bottle, polybags and many more near there.

To the north of the Mamallapuram / Mahabalipuram Shore temple is a cave temple on a rock surrounded by sea waves. In the middle of the cave is carved a sculpture of Mahishasura Mardini (AKA) Kotravai. Lion sculpture was carved on both sides of the Mahishasura Mardini. Due to the sea breeze, the sculptures eroded.
