Mahendragarh is very historical place. As of now this village is empty. So less people live there but whenever the families of this village comes to Mahendragarh they celebrate their days here....
Beautiful palace at Mahendragarh
Built by Rao Jodha in 1459, the enormous hilltop fort of Mehrangarh looks down a steep cliff about 500 feet above the city. If you're an adventure seeker, then you can enjoy the hike on the steep walkway but can also opt for an auto rickshaw or elevators upto two levels from the ticket counter. This fort in Jodhpur is quite possibly the most intricately constructed and well-maintained historical monument in all of Rajasthan. The panoramic view of the blue city of Jodhpur during sunset is another cherry on top. Upon entering, you will go through the Victory Gate, built by Maharaja Ajit Singh for commemorating his victory against Mughals during the beginning of the 18th century. The last of the eight gates in total is covered in handprints of the Rajput women who practiced Jauhar, i.e. self-immolated themselves in fire after their husbands' death in battles. The fort houses Moti Mahal (Pearl Palace), Phool Mahal (Flower Palace), Sheesha Mahal (Mirror Palace), Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana that feature exquisite designs with mirror work and murals all around their walls, ceilings and floors. It encompasses a fine-dine rooftop restaurant with a beautiful decor and well-planned menu to cater to all tourists. You enjoy your food with a side of music by the uber talented folk musicians placed alongside the restaurant. In addition, it has 2 cafes that can be a good pit stop while travelling through the fort. The palace museum is your quintessential room filled with views of vintage thrones, paintings, weapon gallery, palanquins and elephant carriages. Also, the in-house gift shop offers you numerous items you can take home as souvenirs.
