Maharaja Mettu - Tourist attraction in Vannathiparai RF - Theni, India

Serene place. Very good place to spend some peaceful time, that too without any crowd even on weekends. There is a fee of 20rs by the forest dept. 7-8kms to the view point is off road but you can take cars too. I took my sportsbike with a pillion without much hassle.

Good view point. U can travel in your own car if it has good ground clearance and if you are a good driver. This is not exactly off roading. Bad road if song 5 km. Local jeeps will charge 2000.

The ultimate view point in megamalai hills. This is the last stop, below you can see cumbam and gudalur towns and the road to kumily. Reach with a 10-min hike. Locals will act as self-appointed guides. Have to buy a ticket for 30/-which is collected by forest department

The view is good and you can enjoy the calmness. The movement of clouds is a good sight to watch. Plan after noon on a cold day so your view won't be affected by mist. The rocks are slippery when it rains so be careful. As per the current (Dec 2022) road condition it is difficult to drive to this place if you are going there by Hatchback or Sedan; Bikes or SUV's with good ground clearance (good driving skills too) will help you get there on your own vehicle else be ready to spend 1k to 1.5k to hire a jeep. Don't risk your vehicle to save money especially if it has rained recently and there is too much water or mist. No restroom facility and take your own water and snacks. Tickets are charged by the forest department at ~30 per head. Beware of Leech and there is No cellphone signal.

It was an awesome place where they collect 30 rs for view point, best tourist attractions place for people who love to see clouds in front of you. The road to this place is still in progress, so you will experience rough road. Added few photos of April 8 2023

One of peaceful viewpoint I have ever visited. The view was awesome. I came to know why this place called megamalai after visited this place. You can clearly see the moving clouds and raining places from the top. The view was awesome. If you are visiting theni please visit this place. This is lit. I think this is the highest point in theni district. From here you can see the city of theni, kerala border and Kodaikanal. Please take your umbrella when you are visiting. Because any time rain may come. Best place have fun with friends here.

It's a good jeep trekking trip. It will take around 2 hours up and down and costs around 2000rs for a jeep/sumo, no matter how many persons going. It's a very bumpy ride and a great scenery at the end, if you went on a day with perfect climate.
