On a visit to Mangalore last month on the day of solar eclipse - dec 26th - wanted to visit the Sri Kadri Manjunathaswamy Temple. It was evening when I was there but the roads about a kilometer before the temple were packed and almost rarely an inch of empty space was available. With difficulty reached the parking lot but it was packed and was almost impossible to reverse and get out. Then i decided to see the Sri Mahalingeshwara temple. A beautiful but small temple where there was no crowd. It was close to 745 pm and the maha mangalarthi just started. Such a nice experience . One could just sit there and pray.for as long as needed. A short but beautiful visit.
