Mahakal Market is a great shopping destination for winter clothes. The market is located near the Mahakal Temple, which is a major attraction in the area. The clothes available in the market are of good quality, and you can find them at affordable prices. The hill view from the top of the market is a bonus.

The best thing about this place is that you can haggle for lower prices, and can actually get an item for half the original price. The shops are filled with clothes, curio items, decorative items, feng sui items etc. I visited the market on a rainy day unfortunately. But still a lot of shops were open. The shopkeepers were honest, and helpful. There is a canteen in the corner of the market. A full belly meal can be eaten there for a price less than rupees 60. I also recommend the tea at the canteen. It is awesome. The woman operating the canteen was kind and helpful. A must visit for low cost but high quality items.

It is a one-stop-market for buying bead work objects, batik print goods, sculptures, things brought from African destinations like Masai Mara etc. While, the Mahakal Market is good for buying woollen items, the Dragon Market on the other hand is a hub of fashion accessories imported from Bangkok. All kinds of girly stuff such as sandals, frocks, t-shirts, jewellery are sold here.
