The water is so dirty, you can barely swim or dip. I would recommend not to take bath there because you cannot find place for changing dress. You will get awkward feel because there are more than 10 men sleeping there(in the time when I visited). If you wan to do sipritual things , kindly book a room in a nearby lodges and after do the spiritual things , so you can change the dress and fresh up in the room.
Pious tank was kept open for washing and cleaning. Local municipality never cleaned for centuries. Have a faith and don't dip. Dirtiest and most dust clamped temple City.

The specific wells inside the tank has all rivers and can't explain in words about the importance of this confluence of rivers. It happens once in 12 years on a full moon day / pournami day of Kumbha maasam / Maasi maasam coincides with Magam star. Surrounded by temples and this tank has Mantaps to host murthys of near by Shiva and Vishnu temples. Holy place and very few get this lifetime opportunities. The tank is quite well maintained.Its huge but then during peak sunny summer day times you can hardly stop by here. There's no shed or a spot with a roof or a view point as such.
