Madhav National Park - National park in Shivpuri - Shivpuri, India

Madhav National park is situated in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. I visited the park recently and i was charged with 750 ruppees for my car entry charges and then 360 was charges by the guide . For this amount i expect to see animals other than neelgai , deer or cattles . The park was not well maintained and the prices were steep . The park is huge with beautiful scenery yet not much to see

One beautiful place. Must visit during monsoon season. I am sure you'll fall in love. Got to see many animals. Full of flora and fauna.

The Madhav National Park is situated on the northern fringe of the Central Highlands of India forming a part of the Upper Vindhyan Hills intermixed with plateaus, and valley sectiions. The slopes are generally gentle and rarely steep. Spreading over an area of almost 355 Sq kms, Madhav National Park is a fascinating mix of natural splendours of history and architectural wonders. Madhav National Park is situated in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh in Shivpuri District, very close to the Shivpuri township This was notified as a National Park in the year 1958. The Park is unique in having both lake, meadow and forest ecosystems. Sakhya Sagar and Madhav Sagar are the two lakes in the southern part of the park, providing the aquatic biodiversity and lifeline for the terrestrial species. These lakes not only add to the natural beauty of the area, but also provide a permanent source of water to the wildlife, and a fine wetland habitat to the aquatic fauna including thousands of migratory waterfowls. Marsh Crocodiles are in abundance in Sakhya Sagar lake. Due to this, the lake looks like a "Crocodile Safari" and attracts special attention of tourists. Madikhera dam is situated in the North Western part of the Park.

A very nice national park rich with variety of flora and fauna. One can see many migratory birds and different types of animals living in their natural habitat. Inside the park there is George castle which is known as a heritage building where tourists enjoy with fun . The chand pata lake is another major attraction for the visitors who came for Madhav National park. They can enjoy boating with their families.

Very big area of national park. Deer, Boselaphus tragocamelus and crocodile are very easily seen.

Madhav National Park (Shivpuri) * it's named after madhav Rao schindia the ruler of schindia Dynasty * It was given the status of national park in 1958. * This national park is situated on NH-46 highway. * Sankhya Sagar, Jadhav Sagar and Madhav Sagar lakes are located here. * Here on the top of the hill is situated the grand George Castle building, the George Castle building was constructed in 1911 to welcome George V and Mary, built by madhav Rao schindia. * Manihar river flows in this national park. * Most leopards are found here.

Madhya Pradesh is a state which is have lots of jungle(forests). Now come to the Madhav National Park This park is 550 sq kms but due to Lack of animals only limited species are left. Chital, deer, ape, monkey Very good place for tourist spot
