If night driving is not necessary then try to complete your journey during day time, approximately 8 KM road converts in 2 lane from 4 which is highly curved with slope so vehicle speed get's slows. Don't overtake there because local transport driver will do that on behalf of you. Just drive carefully to avoid situation as in picture Drive before sunset to be on the safe side. Traffic jam is also a bad reason not to drive to this place, it took almost 1 hour to pass through that area.

Don't travel after sunset or in night not safe

Machliya Ghat is on Indore-Ahmedabad Highway, i.e National Highway Road 47. In Comparison With Highways, It is Moderately Used Highway. Machliya Ghat is beautiful, But for many years it was prime location for thieves to threaten and loot. Crime rate was higher and even nowadays during night Police Patrol is active and stop and release vehicles in bunch of 5-10 vehicles according to their type from both sides of ghat for their safety. Currently It is under construction so there is heavy traffic on this route. Try To Avoid It By Taking Detours Until Construction is finished.

Not safe after 9.00 p.m. As there is a risk of being robbed and not safe for an individual or with family inspite of police there. Be safe with the route. Also if necessary do not take other route which is before toll plaza .

Any time you can suck up in jams. Try avoid driving at night

Although it is scary place to pass through but luckily nothing happened to me , I crossed this place by car for 11 times. Now road is well constructed.
