A good place to spend time with friends and family , like a get out or a picnic . The scenery at the place is amazing surely a amazing place for explorer and adventure enthusiastic , it well in reach for people live in Madurai . Good to go when the water are running open form the reservoir , you would get a chance to bath in the flowing water. The sheer beauty of the place is the mountain which holds the reservoir water , the misty wind and the evening land breeze which is just amazing to feel it along with the nature surrounding it. Good time is evening with which you can see the sunset too , it just brilliant to experience nature .
Now no water, but the area is clean and good for walking
Nature Unexplored. A beautiful Small Lake dam with good scenic view. Only to go as a Group as its not safe and secured place. Just 2 kms from Highways. We can reach there by car and Bike. But the road is too small where only one car can go at a time.
Nice serene little dam.. Beautiful views around this Sirumalai area from the dam. Best times to visit are on sunrise or sunset. Other than that do not expect anything here like bathing or even little cool down may not be possible. No shops around or even street lights to get here.
A pleasant place near by major city...Full of peacefulness... Without any honking sounds and polluted air we just enjoyed the nature's life..We visited in drought situation so we are again planning to visit in mansoon time...
Natural scenic place near Madurai ! The view of the dam is so pleasant and nature at its best. The water collection area and the water stream located beyond the dam is a great place to enjoy. Surrounded with full of greeny trees, plants and saplings gives the place a cool color and environment. The bamboo garden, water stream and the collection area are the highlights of the place.
Great View No nearby Shops No Amenities Good place to relax. Eswaran movie shooting spot. Dam was built by Former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, late. kamaraj. Sad to see the dam is not maintained properly. Dam view is awesome. A reservoir lake under the foothills of Sirumalai. Better to visit here with groups as there is no security there.
Road was poor and no maintenance. Not safe for family people used to come for drinking alcohol.
It is an artificial waterfall and it is very small.Just water overflows from the stop dam. Not much flow of water but a good place to have fun and enjoyable time with friends and family

get a bus from dhindukkal via sirumalai and reach the agasthiyapuram hill, from there by walk you can go in a sand and stone filled path towards velli malai hill top,filled with full of medicinal herbs and lemon grasses... its really a peaceful place
