great beach view and a clean beach right in front of the place. the rooms are very spacious and clean. the bed is Comfy the restaurant is good. the staff is super friendly and attentive WiFi and ac are working perfectly fine the location is very quiet and a bit off the road, so can be tricky to find it

Had an amazing stay at Maadathil Cottages. My friend and I stayed in 2 different rooms and they were both really lovely and bright and clean. The one with the sea view was especially great. The service was excellent, Karthik was very helpful and communicative and professional. We loved the location, it was about a 25 minute walk from the start of Varkala and the beach infront of us was gorgeous. I will definitely be staying there if I am lucky enough to visit Varkala again :)

Just had a wonderful stay at Maadathil cottages, it's on the quieter end of Varkala which we loved, so beautiful and tranquil. Only a short walk along the beach to the busy part. The staff were excellent, so friendly and really helpful. The breakfasts were great. Can't think of any negatives. Would definitely go back again.

I stayed with Maadathil for 3 days and the experience was just serene & relaxing. The rooms are best for the price I paid, a front view of ocean and a back view of Lotus Pond. The location is a long walk from Varkala cliff but also quiet accessible easily by the road. We like it bit isolated and away from hush bush so we loved every moment we spent here. Maadathil has a well developed palm lawn with swings which are a highlight and something I don't see in other stays. You can just get out of your room and walk to the ocean. The service staff is very helpful and always ready for any thing you need. I would highly recommend if you are visiting Varkala/Odayam this is must try.

The rooms were splendid and the location was indeed one tucked away with a fantastic view. The food is good as well although pricey. The rooms although look pretty, sure are filthy. The sheets are changed. But the cushions in the chairs and couches probably still have the sawdust from the carpenter. It's just not maintained for the prices they are charging. It's not something a small dusting will solve. Under the beds as well, it can probably find the DNA of the all the guests who have stayed there. The real issue is with the sleazy owner / manager. After we arrived by train we managed to get a rented vehicle, he noticed this immediately and in a irked toned informed us that the hotel could have arranged for this. I'm sure he lost some commission in the process but didn't think too much of it. Later in the intro he makes it seem like he's doing us a favour by accepting our AirBnB request and that he only accepted since it was a couple and not a group of guys. Which is fine by itself.But on our 3rd day we see a whole cars of dudes checkin in. The last issue was when we planned to take a cab as we checked out and decided to enquire with the hotel. Ubers estimate was ~900. But the driver(claimed to be a former politician in the area) forced us to pay 2800 at the end of the trip which really took an unexpected turn. We were expecting a markup for the convience which is acceptable, the car was clean the driver an somewhat elderly man who was well behaved for the most part of the drive. Not sure where the issue lies but the customer gets screwed either ways. We tried to bring this up with the manager later but we're left on read. And now can only hope more PPL read this. TL;DR: Good location and view. Rooms are not as clean portrayed but the real issue is the PPL who run the place. PS: in responding to the lower comment 1) I have not booked the place myself but I'm sure if you were diligent you will find it under guest names. Since all places take our IDs and details. This exact diligence is missing in most of your operations. I don't have much to say about the other points since it would be my word vs yours and since it is a for profit business by all means go ahead.

I had an incredible time at this beach resort! The breathtaking views, exceptional service, and lavish amenities made my vacation truly perfect. The spacious, elegantly decorated rooms provided every comfort I needed. The staff, especially Karthick, Ajan, and Abi, went the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay. The dining choices were outstanding, and I'm eagerly looking forward to returning to this idyllic retreat for another unforgettable getaway. The resort even assisted us with bike rentals and a delicious cake. I must mention the Manager who was incredibly kind and helpful. Many tourists were walking by, snapping photos of the resort, regretting they hadn't discovered it. Don't miss out on this remarkable place!"

I missed my train to Varkala due to the traffic congestion in Bangalore. Unfortunately, when I approached the hotel staff to discuss a refund under these exceptional circumstances, their response was quite discourteous. For future bookings at this cottage, I would advise you to exercise caution and be prepared for interactions with the hotel management, as they seem to prioritize financial matters above all else.

Very good location. The beach is just a few metres from the room. You can hear the waves sound 24/7. Food is decent. I had asked for a rental bike and they organised one for me. Very informative and friendly staff. It's a good and safe place for families to visit and stay.
