Lucknow Junction Retiring room - Featured Reviews (1287)
While booking retiring room online I thought that the room would be great as charges for 12 hours was almost Rs1300. It was a huge disappointment after seeing the room as I could have got similar facilities in Rs400-500 right outside the premises. The room was huge but bathroom was not clean. Other things were also average. The only positive point for a Rs2600/day room was that staff was of good behaviour and helpful. Dormitory here are good and economical.
Second class AC waiting room was not having AC. too hot, dirty And untidy. One can expect a clean SECOND AC waiting hall in capital city at least. Plan your arrival as such to station that you can eliminate the need of this retiring room
Cheap and affordable way to stay at Station. You have to book before your trip by using your PNR no.. Due to high demand rooms always booked.
Very bad staf this rrailwe station not response in query very bad experience
The retiring rooms are dormitories located on the first floor of the railway station. Just before the stairs, there is a retiring room counter where entry has to be done.
The beds in the dorms are separated by partition giving some privacy. 3 air conditioners provide some cooling to the large dormitory. However, there is a wall mounted fan for every bed and couple of ceiling fans. Big lockers are available for everyone.
The toilets and bathrooms are fairly clean and hot water geyser is available.
Ideal for singles wanting short term stay. Please avoid if you are coming with family
It was a relaxing experience there in retiring room and dormitory. Though I stayed in dormitory, it felt better than many hotels which overcharge. The dormitory was like a cabin with a dressing table, landline bed, blanket, pillow dustbin. There was common bathroom which had two bathroom and two toilet which was very clean. I appreciate this. This is one of the benefit of privatization which I am seeing in Indian railway, whether travelling in Tejas or staying in privatized retiring room. I stayed there for 24 hours in Common AC dormitory which charged me 450 rupees
All rooms and dormitory book only by irctc website through online mode.
Tips-
If you are planning trip in busy days and want to stay in government rooms and dormitory present at railway station, i will suggest to book you stay atleast 1 week earlier.
The condition of the retiring room was very bad. They are planning to transfer the operation and maintenance of these rooms to a private stakeholder, hopefully the conditions will improve at that time.
The doors also do not close properly.

Let me begin this review with the ambience, it's a beautifully decorated place with exquisite artwork on the walls, and the place all in all looks very lively, once you enter you'll feel refreshed just by the sight of it. It's very neatly organised.
The dorm room, floors, bedding, and attached bathroom are clean. There is a kitchen with filtered water to refill your bottle and a common room. The staff was attentive and helpful. It's a walk or short ride to most historic sites, and the colony is
The 5 stars is based on the price we paid.
The owner is an excellent guy. Very friendly and accommodating.
We stayed in a twin room which was spacious and clean. It is fairly basic and you have to heat you're own bucket of water for the shower, but

The trip was amazing. I got to experience many new things and met new people. The arrangement was good. At this age, you were able to gather so many senior citizens and organize the trip it was very remarkable. Lots of love and best wishes for future
