Sphatik Shila is a place with two massive rocks which are believed to have the footprints of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Sphatik Shila literally means crystal rock and is located amidst dense forests, close to Janki Kund on the banks of river Mandakini.
On the big Ek shila, there is Lord Rama/ Sita & one eyed Crow can be seen. Be careful large number of monkeys are here. Beautiful tourist spot. The sphatik shila is said to be the only slippery shila in chitrakoot . Lord ram and sita sat here when lord ram punished a crow with his bow. A small temple is also situated. Lots of fishes and monkeys can be seen and fed. Place is not maintained properly. It is surrounded by greedy priest who are always asking for money. Whenever you are entering this place they are asking to pay for parking with very poor services and no one to guide you for parking. Very filthy place, roads are full of potholes. There are so many pilgrims coming all round the year still this place is not maintained.
