A place for the display of the art from the local region of Kutch, LLDC emerged as a project just after the earthquake in 2001. This resource center for the artisans is also a public museum and an exposition that works like a workshop to demonstrate the art and learn about it. Working with large solid volumes and integrating the three zones in the masterplan, Indigo managed to create an experience that is spontaneous concerning its function. Incorporating many details in terms of sustainability and craftsmanship, the project is a piece of art.

A great place to go and learn about the arts in Kuchh area. The project is documenting various art forms especially related to garments and fabric decoration in a very time consuming and pains taking effort. The exhibits present there are amazing pieces of art. The project also offers a great opportunity for over 3000 artists to earn their livelihood. Overall, a great place to visit.

LIVING AND LEARNING DESIGN CENTER- a place for all the art, craft and design enthusiasts. They preserves the traditional Indian culture, textile, arts and crafts of Kutch. The way they hosted me when I got a chance to visit was amazing. The staffs were really friendly and helpful, the cafe has got a decent food choices . The space was aesthetically good and peaceful, I sat and did my sketching at the cafe and they stayed till I finished even after the closing time. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

Living and Learning Design Centre (LLDC) is an effort by Shrujan Trust to preserve, revitalize & promote the craft heritage of Kutch. LLDC complex houses an International standard crafts museum which is widely appreciated by visitors. LLDC is dedicated to the craftspeople of Kutch, it is a multi-dimensional crafts education & resource centre that trains & supports craftspeople in traditional crafts so that they are capable of earning a dignified livelihood. Complex has 3 Galleries, a Library and a crafts studio for artisans practising various crafts (weaving, block printing, pottery, metal work, etc.) The complex also has a well equipped conference room and an auditorium. LLDC welcomes volunteers - as a resource person for skill building workshops, as an organizer for W/shops & events, helping craftspeople set up stall & sell their products in exhibitions (Information-LLDC Brochure)

It has been a very enriching and inspiring experience to be in this gallery. Though being a kutchhi, this gallery has given me a glimpse of a rich cultural and traditional heritage of Kutch which makes me very proud of being a Kutchhi. Great efforts on preserving this magnificent treasure!!!

LLDC- LIVING AND LEARNING DESIGN CENTER, a must visit place for all the art, craft and design lovers. The center encourages and preserves our ancient Indian culture. It is divided into four service floors which includes all the forms of art. We went here for a site case study from my college and it was the best experience ever. The staff there is very helpfull, the canteen food is amazing("a total ghar ka khana vibes"). The place has peacefull atmosphere to sit and work in canteen space. A must visit!

Just loved the way they have done the Museum. There is proper write up about everything and sample of all stitches are outside the cases to see how they have done it. U need at least an hour or two to go through all the galleries properly. Shivam was an amazing guide with immense knowledge on textile and he is always smiling and happy to reply any questions u have in mind. Their canteen is also good, simple but tasty food. The shop inside the museum complex also sells good stuffs done by all the community ladies. Definitely a must visit place. As photography inside is not allowed, so not many pics to share.
