Laxmi Vilas Palace - Hotel in Bharatpur - Bharatpur, India

Overall good experience, liked the room we stayed in, food, the campus and generally helpful staff. The bird sanctuary is close enough. The pool was clean. However the restaurant was under staffed and made us wait nearly an hour for dinner, when they'd already decided the menu and prepared the food! We may go back again, though.

It's a nice hotel. The new wing is much better. It's called Laxmi Niwas but it's the same hotel same location etc. The new wing is built in old style as well but it has modern fittings and better floor, bathrooms etc. The dining area is in new wing as well. Overall it's a good hotel. Room service needs improvement.

We stayed in the hotel in December 2021 & that time some construction/ maintenance work was going on in some areas of hotel. Hotel gives a feel of a palace. Rooms are fine. Food taste was good but it was very pricey. It's a great property and I loved their huge & beautiful dining area. Walls are really painted beautifully. For some reason during our stay they had complimentary evening tea & snacks. Those snacks were really tasty. Though a beautiful property but overall feel is not extraordinary. But nothing bad as well. Staff wasn't very quick or cordial then they were just fine. Overall property is really nice & beautiful especially for some destination functions.

Interesting rooms. Below average food. Coffee and tea is more like milk soup. They quote 800rs for juice. Obscenely priced, would put 5 star prices to shame. Waiters always trying to con you into paying extra by lying about menu prices and get rude and start to bully you if you confront. Goon like demeanor. The property itself has a strange layout but the structure and some halls are magnificent and take you by surprise given its located in a small town. Has immense potential if managed well. Breathtaking interiors in some portions.

They are more interested in serving their foreign guests. 3-4 staff members were swooning over a small table of foreigners but no service for us, not even a greeting. That too in this day and age where Indians are splurging and spending more than the hippy foreigners who throng these kind of places. Ignoring this aspect, there still isn't anything that stands out. Poor service, average quality rooms. Good luck to them but I won't be visiting again.

Hotel was definitely top notch. The service and amenities provided were really good. The food was outstanding. Definitely recommend it.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. Lots of greenery and open spaces. The staff is responsive and helpful. The food is also good although limited in variety. They also have a pool which is well maintained. The room are very spacious but the air conditioning needs to be better. We had initially booked a royal suite but had to switch to a smaller room as the AC wasn't able to properly cool the room. The smaller room had better AC but it also wasn't fully satisfactory.

Palace is very well maintained and hygienic, restaurant ambience is so fresh and amazing. Our 2 day stay was really pleasant. Swimming pool had good water heating and depth was 3.5 ft to 4.5 ft.. kids really enjoyed a lot.. Few cons but not really something it should stop you for selecting this property for your stay: 1) Except bird sanctuary(2-3 hrs of sight seeing) and 1 Laxman temple (1 hrs max.) and Lohagarh Fort/Museum (2 hrs max) which all can be covered in 1 day. there is not much to go out.. so plan it if you want tk stay in property and enjoy the time with family. 2) Food quality was good but not much options (mostly North Indian) hence it gets boring to order same food next day. 3) Room service was very limited, although we got room service as we cited we had a 4 months old baby and cant come frequent to dining hall for lunch and snacks..
