Lampokhari, also known as Aritar lake is one of the oldest freshwater lake in Sikkim. Situated along the way to the historical Silk route, this lake is surrounded by Alpine forest. Visitors can feed the fishes in the lake. Boating is also allowed here. A narrow jungle path connects the lake from the nearby mountain top called Mankhim.
Very nice view, especially its view from the Mankhim view point, it just looks like a shoe shaped lake. Many fishes are there in the lake. Entry fee is reasonable. You can walk on the pavements surrounding the lake which is a must do in winter evening.
The place is awesome .The nature of the place is mind blowing. There are so many fishes in the lake and the water is green. You can also boating in it.
Quite nice place for sightseeing. You can do boating there. It will charge 300 rs per boat.
During winter, grab a jacket, and put on anything that keeps you warm. Just be in the moment and enjoy the peace, It's a walk to remember.
A beautiful and peaceful place . For locals its free and for outsiders you have to buy tickets. It is also called Aritar lake . There is a monastry when you take walk around lake . Some small shops are also there for teas and momos.
Man made lake, full of koi fish inside. Spent 1 night there in home stay. So calm, so relaxing.
The lake is beautiful. One can spend long time here if you go in early morning or late afternoon. There are lots of fish in the lake. Boating facilities available. But a stroll round the lake underneath pine n deodar tree is the best part.
After a short trek you will reach this view point. Good place for sightseeing. You will get a very good scenery from here. You can see edge of the Kanchenjunga from here along with other mountains. Below you can see Lampokhri (Aritar) Lake.
I stayed there with my friends. It was a great experience. Great view , great hospitality. Attractions of East Sikim is nearby from this hotel. There are hilly villages on both sides of the hotel. After returning from the view points , you can explor
