Lakshmivilas Heritage resort - Hotel in Kattumannarkoil, Puthur - Cuddalore, India

Lakshmivilas Heritage resort is truly a hidden gem. It is located near Chidambaram (20 min drive) and very near to the Veeranam lake. The place is very well maintained. Feels like staying in a farm house. Good food. Service was really good with personal touch that makes one feel as if we belong to the place. Also, compared to a few other places I'd been to, this is value for money. Strongly recommend for those looking for a place to relax in a village atmosphere. Also ideal for events such as family/ friend reunion, weddings

It's not a resort, only a haveli converted for commercial purpose. It's located at quite an isolated place, accessible through a narrow village road. Scary if you are coming at night since there are no street lights. At half an hour distance from Chidambaram The rooms are just ok, nothing special. The food is quite basic. We preferred to have our dinner at A2B Chidambaram which was quite good. Do Not expect any luxury, everything is very basic and minimal. Premises are not that well maintained. Found the overall cost to be exorbitant than what you actually get.

This resort is one of the most incredible places I have visited. Everything is done promptly, from room service to dining. The resort has all the elements to be called "Heritage," as each tiny thing is thoughtfully designed. The food is another top aspect of this resort, and they serve it like a family member. If you are looking to chill out in a serene and quiet place away from the buzzing city life or need to take a moment to make some important decisions in your life, this place is your perfect companion.

Too good! Rooms are traditional, big, well maintained..fitted with modern amenities A/C, Fridge etc. Bathrooms have traditional copper vessel/bucket and pot/mug for bathing.. It is rare to see such heritage hotels these days.. The inhouse food tasted great! Courteous staff Must visit..

Nice and charming property overall. We wanted to stay in Chidambaram and could not find a decent property and had hence booked this place. The approach roads are good, unlike some of the reviews and so are the rooms. I am avid traveller and typically stay only 4-5 star hotels. The rooms are not of that quality. However, I am paying very reasonable price; which makes it worth the money. I had booked two rooms, both of which were connected and spacious. The bathroom was good as well and was functional. I would surely stay here again

Most folks coming here (me included) do so with the intent of visiting the Chidambaram temple. It's about 15 Km from the temple but the distance is easy to cover with your own transport or even by bus (bus stop is very close). The property itself is really beautiful and offers s lot of peace and quiet for folks looking to get away from the madding crowd (except for the times that the loudspeaker from adjoining religious institutions decide to blare up - even at the unearthly hour of 4:30am). The rooms are clean but need a little maintaining (like almost all reviews here will tell you). You will find the occasional broken flush plate and faucet holder or cracked tile and unpolished wood but ignore these and you will find that the staff are very accommodating and friendly, attentive to the point of being doting and yet giving you your space. I would give the staff 10 stars if it were possible. Would I come here again? Most definitely!

We loved this quaint place,although a bit far but it was worth it.If you love authentic South Indian food,a comfortable environment then go for this place.the Staff is also very nice. but people who are expecting I don't know what,are criticizing this place then please do your research before going and also what may work for you might now work for others.so people with kids,call n confirm what you are expecting and if it doesn't meet your criteria do not book.i agree garden needs upkeep but i understand how in a village it must be hard to find workers.but from what we experienced in terms of stay,staff,food,ambience it was lovely.

Best hotel in the Chidambaram area. Real heritage hotel.. Very good service.. The staff is very friendly.
