Lakha Banjara Lake - Lake in Sagar - default, India

Instead of blue colour it's green. Blue green algae has contaminated the surface. All runnels are directly dumped into it. We can't even touch the water, as it can cause skin diseases. Biodiversity is ruined. It has a great potential to become a tourist spot.

It is not clean from its all around very badly in between the city people are not are not aware to take care while throwing the garage in it.

Lakha Banjara Lake or Sagar Lake is in middle of Sagar city MP. Nice cool place for morning or evening walks. Origin of this lake is not clear. As per folklore this Lake was ordered to be dug by the king in ancient times. But no water came out. Somebody close to king suggested that if a newly wed couple prays at the central point of the lake water may come out. However the couple will get drowned. Nobody came out for such sacrifice. Lakha Banjara offered to put his son & newly wedded daughter in law in the dry lake. Couple prayed there & water came out gushing but the couple drowned. Lakha Bnajara the gypsy became a folk hero.

Lakha Banjara lake is the heart of the Sagar district. Opposite to Sagar ISBT and 3 kms away from Sagar Railway station. You will find many migratory birds in the lake if you are visiting it Spring seasons. You can take a Boat ride as well in the lake with your loved ones.
