We stayed at Kynjai's for 2 nights. Host is a really cool person. He advised us on how to travel around. He was always instantly available on WhatsApp. Anything you need was just a msg away. The best thing about the stay was the terrace opens up to the backyard of the mountain view. The only reason I awarded 4 instead of 5 stars is because there were spider webs in the room.
Food was alright, service was mediocre at best, the method of ordering food is very dissimilar to most restaurants which is not a good thing imho. The restaurant tried to be unique compared to other restaurants in Shillong but it does not deliver well. This restaurant is just bait for teenagers who like Japan, South Korea and anime. 4/10
You will actually feel like you are staying at home. I have visited Mawlynnong 3 times and every time I stayed in this homestay. Superb neat and clean place with decent basic eating options nearby.
Everything thing about this place was top notch! I've never received such care from a Homestay. Dajied and his family went above and beyond during my stay. Since I am in India during the Covid lockdown they made sure we were safe and cared for. Anything we needed they took care of. My room was beautiful and clean. If your in Shillong you would be making a mistake by not staying here!
Homestays rather than hotels or resorts are a common sight in Meghalaya. We had opted for this homestay purely based on Google reviews and it didn't disappoint. We had a small single room with an attached bathroom. Everything was neatly maintained. We were also provided with breakfast of bread and eggs every day. Overall a satisfying experience!
Helpful and polite host, very casual place. Little away from the main town but easily accessible. They arrange for self driven scooty as well as cabs for visiting tourist places at standard rates. The bike was in good condition.
