I had the pleasure of visiting Kurumbalakkotta Mala in Kerala, a hilltop that promises a sunrise above the clouds. The journey to this serene destination offers a choice between a calming trek and a convenient jeep ride. For Rs. 600, the jeep can transport up to 7 people up and down the hill. The main attraction is the sunrise, occurring between 6 am to 8 am, creating a breathtaking spectacle as the sun emerges amidst the clouds. Unfortunately, on the day of my visit, dense clouds delayed the sunrise until 8:30 am, which is unusual. Despite missing the sunrise, the natural beauty of the area with its lush forest was mesmerizing. The diverse flora and fauna added to the enchantment. In summary, Kurumbalakkotta Mala offers a unique blend of adventure and nature, with the chance to witness a sunrise above the clouds. Whether you choose to trek or take the jeep, the experience is calming and the surroundings are stunning, making it a memorable trip, even if the sunrise is a bit elusive.

Really amazing hilltop situated at wayanad district. Try to reach before sunrise. If you are lucky you will get the view. Which is equal to heaven. Trucking is available to reach the top of the hill. You can also stay the top by way of tend. Try to visit here.

I had the incredible opportunity to visit Kurumbalakotta and witness a sunrise like no other. The trek in the early morning was well worth it. As the first rays of light broke through, the landscape transformed into a breathtaking vista. While I didn't get to see the mesmerizing cloud bed that some are fortunate to witness, the overall experience was still magical. The tranquility and beauty of Kurumbalakotta are truly worth exploring for any nature lover. Don't miss the chance to enjoy its captivating sunrise and stunning natural surroundings.

Very honest review:- For sunrise at kurumbalakotta hill top need to start at 4:30 if your are 15-20km away from hill top you will reach there by max 30-45 mins very small road but very neat.! Once you reached there parking charges for car is 40 and then the trek starts it takes approx 45 mins- 1 hour to reach hill top no lights available on the way total dark need to on mobile torch total mountain climbing if it rains then to much slippery can slip if new to trekking No Breaks At Trek Totally Steak Up Hill With Rocks Support I Strongly Recommend If you Have Good Stamina And can Climb the Hill Then only go If Not Please Dont Go i Dont Recommend Because I Fell Down Twice Iam A Healthy Person After Reaching Peak Small Shop Available Where You Can Have water bottle maggie bread Omlet Hill Top Scene Is Not That Much Recommended Because Lakkidi View Point Is Far Better Then This Trek And Getting Down Is More Difficulty Then Climbing Mountain.. Very Sleepy Way

Mesmerizing place it is. Small trek and good bike upto the parking place will reach you the perfect spot. Route is little hard to ride a bike. After parking spot it almost 1km of hike to reach the top. Start your journey before an hour of sunrise to see the amazing views. The place, views from top is so beautiful and loving. Highly recommending for Trek lovers.

"The Morning bliss can be blessed sometimes". It's a calm place for a splendid sunrise but it's crucial to be there at time and season. March to June is not so good as we know and October to January is best I think. Have to Trek only 1km or less to the top. Network is good up there, no problems. Snacks and drinkable's are available on top. Not best when too crowded because of spatial reasons.

20-30 minutes trucking, nice view at the top. Good place for sunrise & sunset views. Visit during Rainy season is risky. Small paid parking facility, tea shop available. No entry ticket as of now.
