Kunjan Nambiar Smarakam - Historical place museum in Lakkidi - Palakkad, India

Government should take action to preserve this historical place. Maintenance is poor. No tickets required. You can come through Thiruvilamala route and Ottaplam to Palakkad route. Both roads are good to travel. If thiruvilamala route will be less than 1 km from Main road

Kunchan Nambiar is considered by may as the master of Malayalam satirist poetry.it is considered as born place of kunjan nambiar..this place held slighlty within the highway road and maintained as well as administratives.this is an historical place that cannot be hide from our cultural and arts past..!

It's indeed a great place for literature lovers. But the monument is in a dilapidated condition. Mahakavi's birthplace needs to be urgently repaired and preserved. Rainwater stagnates inside the monument due to leakage. No doubt that this can lead to the destruction of the house made of soil.

Regarded as the creator of Ottan Thullal, Kunjan Nambiar is said to have created this art form on being ridiculed for falling asleep during a Chakyarkoothu performance. He created history with his brand new dance form - a solo dance and a classical satirical art form, which always has an absorbent storyline relevant to contemporary issues.

Birth place of Kunjan Nambiar... A must watch place to know our Heritage culture...!!

Good....there is nothing to see...just Kunjan Nambiar's house... it's a kalapeedom...they r studying there Mohiniyattam,Carnatic music,Mrudangam,thullal...for students from 8th class(high school)

A silent place with lost of history. Visit all the rooms and understand the things. Parking is limited to roadsides but not much rush at any times. Lot of green paddy fields nearby which is a treat for the eyes too. A historic place to spend some 45 minutes.

No entry ticket is required to visit. Maintenance is very poor.
