Kundha Waterfalls - Featured Reviews (101)
It is one of the most adventurous trips. You need to climb so many rocks to reach the destination. Eat something before you start. I've attached some photos of where you can enter. Cox, there is no proper entrance. Just follow the sound of soothing water fall. It is truly a hidden gem.
One of the best and thrilling experiences Only for bachelors and fit guys Estate workers will help you find falls Trecking through tea estate down to falls While we returning we closely encounter king size bison 10 steps away So , Beware of wild animals Carry drinking water in your hand.
Visited in June 2023 An offbeat waterfall that is motor-able from both Ooty and Coonoor. One has to park the car on the road and trek for about 1.5 kms through a tea garden. The trek can be a little dangerous as there is no specific path and can be slippery. The water flow was lesser but as there was no crowd we chilled here for a while .
Good place to spent some time. Small hike through tea estate to reach here. Beware of wild animals like leopard, bear etc. Common spotting. Can take a dip as its safe. People can trek the route upwards if required.
This waterfall is on the way to Manjoor and is around 30 km from Ooty bus stand. I took a bus to Yedakaadu and walked to the falls. On the way, you'll see the Kundha Dam. There is a lovely rocky peak in the distance, but I'm not sure what it's called or how to get there. The Google Maps' directions to the location and the falls are quite accurate. There is a mud path leading to the waterfall from the main road. The stream leading to the main fall might be accessible, but I reached late in the evening, so I didn't have time to walk upstream. This isn't a picnic spot because the vegetation around the falls is thick, but I think you can play in the water as the current isn't strong. Definitely an interesting half-day excursion from Ooty.
We went in searching for the falls through tea estates. After finally reaching it we were very happy. Very small lane, old people must avoid
There is no proper entrance. Just few steps after the GMaps point on the road curve, you will see an entrance way leading to a house, you need to take that path through a tea garden. You might ask local for help. I should say it's breathtakingly beautiful, and the water levels are safe. It's underrated, because of the lack of access. It's a hidden gem. It's worth the trek, but please don't go in the night since the pathway is confusing at times.
