Kumbakonam placed in a down south temple of city. Most of the temples were based on lord shiva and lord Vishnu. Most of the temple timings of from morning 6:30 a.m. to 12 noon and from evening 4:00 p.m. to 8 .00 pm

Kumbakonam is one of the ancient temple towns and among the top tourist places in India, flanked by the two rivers Cauvery and Arasalar, in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. The name Kumbakonam means the Pot's Corner. According to mythology, when the world was destructed due to the tsunami, Lord Brahma asked Lord Shiva, from where he can restart creation. He suggested him to make a magic pot with the sand collected from various sacred places and float it in the floodwater. Kumbakonam is the place where the pot stopped and then Lord Shiva shot an arrow, which led to the spilling of some nectar on this place, and thus life was revived on the earth.

Kumbakonam is a place where you throw a stone in any direction it will fall near a temple. There is a temple in every corner of the city.I went there to Visit the School where 96 was shot. A scene where Ram goes back. To the class where he studied with his love. As a big fan of the movie I wanted to visit that school. Then i roamed in the city and saw almost 5 Temples, where each temple was bigger than the other one. Kumbakonam was mesmerizing, The gateways to the temple are usually bigger than the temples. I didn't eat anything there, but did enjoy they different temples I visited. It is a must visit place if you are visiting Thanjavur.
