Kumbakonam - Train station in Kumbakonam - Thanjavur, India

An average station, upper class waiting hall will be opened at morning 9:15 am hour before the train arrives...local passenger trains are more. Fewer trains for other outskirt cities like Chennai, Bangalore...etc. Wifi is available for 30 min (free) Cleanliness is somewhat fine...there is no AC waiting hall...need to improve a lot in terms of passenger comfort, other facilities.

Need more trains and development for the station. Automatic ticket vending machines also available. Maintenance is also good.

Very neatly maintained railway station by Thiruchirappalli railway division and southern railways. It's well connected to the rest of the city and it acts as a gateway to the rest of the temple in the delta district. Plenty of auto and taxis are available in the vicinity. Trains are available to Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Mysore , Madurai , Rameshwaram , Nagercoil, Tirunelveli and Villupuram on daily basis . Important trains here are the Coimbatore Jan Shatabdi express, Cholan Superfast express, Mysore express, Uzhavan express and Boat Mail express.

Neat and clean station with wheel chair access. Station premises are well maintained but some commuters litter in the premises. Many canteens are available and also open during early hours to late at night. Upper class wait room needs more facilities like AC and sofa. Wash room does not have western commode, wash basin tap is broken.

It's one of the biggest Temple City. This railway station is one of the unique station in tamil nadu. Neet and Clean always all time. And the unique is all the compartment area are shown in LED lights. Train will be perfectly stops on the exact number like S2 ,S3..... .Inside the station post office there and the water point is available also neet and clean toilets available. Enabled WiFi Station. Entrance and waiting hall is very perfect. We can go without tensions here and will be very happy journey. We will Thanks to the Railway police secure alltime in the station.

Railway station maintained neat and clean. Waiting room toilets were also tidy though evening mosquito infestation is menace. ZERO'B auto water vending machine need service is the request to the station master. Lethargic aptitude of information counter staff results in getting delayed information. Rail WI-FI paid and 30 minutes free service is a plus.

This is one of the best place around tamilnadu to visit temples, but the problem is limited buses only available via railway station from Kumbakonam busstand... If you came with a car/van/tourist_bus you'll definitely gonna make a memorable moments here, because there's too many temples to explore...

Well this is the place where Swami Vivekananda told the world "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached". The station is neatly maintained. The staff there are very courteous. They do have automated ticketing machines and also a person helping others to get the tickets from this machine. The parking lot is spacious. Overall A cool nice station.
