Kumbakonam Iyer Cafe - Vegetarian restaurant in Tirumalai Samudram - Thanjavur, India

We went there to take a break while going to mannarkudi. They have two separate places. One for lunch and other place is for snacks. We have ordered chilly baji, masala bonda, filter coffee and badam milk. All tastes very good. I like the taste of all the items. The service is available. The ambience is above average. The cost seems to be reasonable. They accept scan and pay payment options. Overall worth visiting the place.

Wow ! Fantastic place for coffee , had an amazing time with my friends, cafe is located on the highway prime location . Very peaceful and calm . Interior was amazing , had antique stuff like old type writer, pallanguki , Chekku and ammi kal etc , if you are going from Trichy to Tanjore please visit this cafe once . Toilets are also available.

Was looking for an early morning breakfast on the way to Tanjavur! Found this amazing place for a hot brekafast. Felt like styaing there for a while to look out the heritage values, cozy ambiance, vintage artifacts of old traditional practices and tools used! It's kind of a mini museum, well maintained by its owner, a very young chap Mr. ASHWIN. Congrats to him and definitely a place to visit . Ofcoz hot delicious food served at his ally adjacent called " Namma ooru ildi". Mouth watering verieties of chutney and voracious list of dosas!!

This Place is very Nice for Hangout.. This shop lies In the Trichy to Tanjore National Highway and it's Just Opposite to Sastra University. While Traveling towards Tanjore you can able to view this Coffee shop. Very nice hospitality and good care taker of customer's needs. The Relationship between the customer and the shop keeper is Soo good. The taste of Beverages like Hot Coffee, Karupetti Milk and Even Elaneer Payasam (Tender Coconut shake) also available. Snacks like Muruku and other Palagaram like Suliyam,Kollukattai also available.. Separate restroom facilities for both men and women is available here.. Spacious car Parking facility.. If u come along with your kinds it's too fun and they can able to know about the antique Things like old Telephone , Radio,Fan etc are Shown Here... Price for the food is affordable for this Location and Maintenance.. I just really Loved it..

This place serves most delicious South indian vegetarian food at good prices. Comparing the food quality with the price, the price may seem cheap. The staff is very courteous. During my four years stay at SASTRA University, i had sumptuous meals and dinner several times here. With its rustic setting and village atmosphere, this is a peaceful stop for the travellers towards trichy/thanjavur. The setting here reminds me most of the typical village atmosphere of tamilnadu. The main specialities here are 1. Meals (serves during lunch time for a price of 70/-) 2. Panangalkandu palu (milk mixed with palm sugar crystals... This would definitely make you to go to sleep) 3. The iconic kumbakonam kapi (coffee made with kumbakonam mixture of coffee powder). PS: I haven't been here since 1 year and the prices may have rised.

Simple but delicious. We stopped over for coffee and ended up ordering bajji. Kothimeer bajji was just so good and a must try!

They have HOTEL next to cafe named NAMMA IDLY KADAI in that you will find Lots of idly and dosa variety. Traditional items. Good atmosphere. In cafe they have special varieties of bajji and other items

Kumbakonam Iyer Coffee Found this on the way to Tanjore,you could find this just straight opposite to Sastra university. Hotel gives you a traditional look as you can see the antique collections. * Ordered Coriander bajji(full length coriander leaves as bajji), onion bajji also which was lip smacking * Tasted Ragi,kambu kolukatai and elaneer payasam was just wow. * Filter coffee- marana mass, really I haven't tasted a Coffee like this anywhere. Their menu's were so different, definitely give a try on d way to Tanjore.Though the price is little bit on the higher side,worth paying for the quality and quantity. They also have a resto nearby named "Namma ooru Idly Kadai".
