KUMARAKOM KITCHEN (KUMARAKOM THE RESTAURANT) - Kerala restaurant in Chennai, Ramapuram - Chennai, India

My visit to this restaurant was a moment of epiphany of sorts. It doesn't feel like a restaurant in any way. It's like an industrial kitchen. You don't have waiters. Someone at the entrance gives you a bill and takes payment for what you need and then you go to the counter where a 'no-eye-contact' person delivers your order. The absolute joy is excellent tasting hygienic food on a budget. I'd call it an excellent service to people working in the nearby IT parks for the quality of food. Hats off at what it is. But I felt so lost at how impersonal the food service industry of the future can become.

This Kumarakom serves really good authentic kerala food - including famous beef curry, kizhi parotta, kerala parotta, and kerala biriyani. The food is delicuous and very filling. Its housed perfectly in a quiet corner among the several IT parks in the area. The service is also quite fast, just the atmosphere inside could be a little better. The place is kind of self service. A maximum of 6 people can be seated on a single table. Definitely visit! Personal favorite for lunch.

These people charging 160 rs for meals for take-away whereas the menu card shows 100rs for meals. These people are without any ethics selling unfair prices for food if you want a takeaway. Dont go to this pathetic cheating place.

I ordered kappa and fish curry from kumarakom and the smell was horrible... It was reheated and food was spoiled. They keep saying sorry and the chef is new. Definetly im gonna report this to food safety department.

Please Do not believe these Stupid people saying food taste was amazing , i went there and ordered 2 fish meals for 280 and got a meal size for a baby and extra rice will cost you more. and the fish curry was nothing but OIL LEFTOVERS ... kumarakom should pull back this horrible place and i should slipper the IT people who go there to Eat . For 280 rupees i could have had wayy Better FOOD somewhere else

Overpriced & reheated food! It's a order and pay first self service restaurant. It's not air conditioned. For the price we pay we should get some better hospitality. Ordered kizhi parotta , parotta, appam & chicken roast . Parotta was old and reheated , appam was fresh and good , chicken roast was average. Kizhi parotta'S parotta was old again and chicken was also old and reheated ones. Restaurant was empty and we were the only ones having food over there.

24/06/23, I bought kappal, thappattai, appam and beef roast as stake away parcel in kumarakom at Guindy. When I opened the parcel at my home, we were shocked to see kappal been rotten and bad smelling, we could realise at once we opened the packing and the chapati was hard as rubber and unable to make i to pieces and unable chew. Finally my family went to bed without eating these food. This is a bad experience for me...

Mess type setup. We order and pay at the reception and food is served inside . Food is cheap and tasty . While the dishes are from Kerala,they are not prepared in Kerala style .
