Kuki Dam - Featured Reviews (39)
Dam is situated at Jhalda Block, continue in Ranchi Road & then towards Birsha More for another 7km till Kuki More. Sinage boards are installed to guide you from Kuki More to Kuki dam (Rupai Dam). Peak visit time is during monsoon & winter. One can the dam filled & spilling if rainfall is adequate & in winter the attractive thing is migratory birds after 4:30 pm. The beauty of the dam & greenery surrounding it is unmatched. Do visit with family & friends.
An outstanding place among the greeneries, hills, Subarnarekha river-dam, and the tribes. The natural jungle, varieties of birds, and calm-quiet environment will make you refreshed within moments. How to reach? Take train to Purulia Junction and then take train to Jhalida station. Book a car to reach Kuki (approx 12km from Jhalida). You can book hotel at Jhalida. Do note that you have to carry all your food, water and other requirements with you as you won't get any shop/restaurants there.
Kuki dam is situated in the outskirts of Jhalda town. The serene spot is a must visit place if you like tranquility. Chemtaburu peak is visible from here. Many migratory birds take refuge in this large water-body from winter to spring. I spotted Bar-headed Goose in the month of March.
It was good... greeny around the dam...its not so big,so don't be expected high, roads wasn't able to travel or ride....
A very nice location in offbeat purulia
Kuki Dam is located in Purulia, West Bengal. It is about 10km from Jhalida Railway Station. Most of the train stop at Jhalida Railway Station. Best time to visit is August -September. Ayodhya Hills is about 14kms from Kuki which is also one of the tourist spot.
