Krittibas Ojha's Birth Place - Heritage building in Phulia - Nadia, India

The place is very nice and very calm atmosphere. I visited here in 2020 but still remember that.

This is the birthplace of the poet Krittibas, the creator of the Bengali Ramayana epic. It is located in a village called Phulia in Nadia district of West Bengal. There is a well from the time of Krittibas, a banyan tree from that time and next to the memorial is the central library named after Krittibas Ojha and the temple of Sri Harichand Tagore. The holy river Ganga is flowing some distance away from it.

It was awesome place to visit. From Fulia station by auto, Toto anyone can go to Krittibas birth place. The Ramayana was translated by Krittibas. Haridas was also come to this place and he was staying there. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was also visited there. So the historical importance is high. Also there are Mayadevi Temple ( Maa kali) founded by the Local King. You can also take Maha Bhog ( Maha Prasadam) from there.

Very famous place. The birth place of kritti bas oja. All so famous of kritti bas school and library.

This is one of the heritage place of Nadia but not maintained properly.

Perpetuating the memory of Epic Poet 'KRITTIBAS OJHA (who composed the Ramayana in Bengali, which is known as 'KRITTIBASI RAMAYANA) Govt. of West Bengal Education Department (now Mass Education Extension & Library Services Dept.) create and established a special type of library cum museum on the birth place of the Epic Poet 'KRITTIBAS at Fulia Boyra, district of Nadia in the name 'KRITTIBAS MEMORIAL LIBRARY-CUM-MUSEUM in the year 1960
