Went to the temple after almost 2-3 years. From Bangalore via chitradurga , better to take route via Kudlgi as the inner roads via jagalur or other small roads are always under maintenance. We had nice Darshan and had prasad in dasoha. On the way we stopped at Sunflower fields with nice yellow color of flowers. Also you can enjoy lot of windmill views.
Excellent piece ful place. Most auspicious days are No MOON days(amavasyas). Huge number of devotees have been visiting on everyday. Small shops and vegetables market are near by. Located 500 mtrs away from Bus stand.Dont forget to have taste of kottur special ,,
Good historical temple in Kotturu (Sri Guru Kotturu Basaveshwara Temple). There 4 main temples 1.Moorakkal Temple near bus stop, 2.Kottureshwara Temple, 3.Tottilu math Temple, 4.Gacchinan math Temple (The tomb of the living). We can stay there. For a room 200/- per day (upto 6-7 members) or we can stay in the Gacchina math (Free) they will provide bed sheet and mat for night. Temple opening time 4:30am in the morning, for Linga pooja we must present before 5:00 AM (Mangala pooja). Vehicle parking will be available. Anna Prasad every day night 9:00. Note: We faced a problem we didn't find good hotel in Kotturu. So we start our journey and had breakfast at Harapanahalli (27km from Kotturu). Happy Journey

Best devotional place very peaceful area
Temple is good and premises doesn't looks like temple area, since it located in the middle of town and next to market. Temple deity is very famous and we can see deity's name on almost every kind of shops. Cleanliness should be improved in temple premises.

Mattihalli is the kotturs pride hotel Famous for Oggarane and mirchi at the evening And morning idli vada Uppittu It is since many days and one of the oldest hotel run by a joint family

Enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast. Reasonably priced, neat, and good service. Not a great ambiance though. The sambar with the idly and dosa can be a good taste !!!! But, it sure was tasty and fresh
