The road leading to the spot is in very bad condition. Don't go there on a small 4-wheeler as it can be dangerous and only if you have an experienced driver. There are some Jeep safari which we read on Google reviews but were unable to find anyone on reaching there.

Kote Betta, situated about 15 Kms from Madikeri, is one of the 3 highest peaks in the region with an elevation of 1620 meters. Botlappa Shri Eshwara temple is located at the base point of Kote Betta. This place has significance in Hindu mythology. Kotebetta translates to Fort Hill and it is believed that the Pandavas from the famous epic Mahabharata spent a substantial amount of time during their exile in this region. This hilly region is extremely famous for its splendid, lush green Forests and the majestic Western Ghats.
A place which Is the second highest peak of Karnataka It feels very refreshing and has grandeur and breath taking views I would recommend to go on a bike rather than in car as the journey towards it is very mesmerizing as it goes through the outskirts of Coorg Shiva temple is at the top which apparently opens once in a year
Loved this place . You will be in shock if you see the stacked rock formation. There is a shiva temple situated at the base of these rocks. I visited here during summer but still the weather was cool and foggy. Climate here changes very rapidly. The route to the bottom will be challenging for some vehichles usually in monsoon season.
