Konkani Haus - Konkani restaurant in Thane - Thane, India

This place is insanely popular and scoring a table requires waiting at least 30 - 45 mins, especially on weekends. They don't take reservations on the phone. They make no exceptions for groups with elderly or very young people. The restaurant is actually pretty big and pricing is near premium, so given how they're raking it in, this zero effort to improve wait-time and parking facilities is IMO unconscionable. Food is decent overall but not to the level justifying such dedicated crowds. The fish is fresh, no doubt and the portions are almost generous but the treatment is ordinary. For example the Bombil Rava Fry was limp and soggy, the Malvani Surmai Curry was under seasoned, and the Steamed Rice and Tandul Bhakri were served cold. We didn't try the Komdi Vade that was on 90% tables as we were here for the fish. The guy who took our order was sweet and helpful with suggestions. He quickly understood our preferences. It was downhill after that - the wait-staff struggle to remember and bring things to the table in time. Why should it take 10 mins to serve cold Bhakris?? Premises is fairly clean. Toilets are wet but not filthy. Location is prime but if you're driving yourself to this restaurant, get ready to go crazy for it's very difficult to park - they have no facilities of their own and they don't offer a valet service. Oh ya, one other thing - they're one of those cheap places that don't accept Amex.

I ordered Surmai Tawa fry but was not as expected and tasted stale. Chicken kharda was good and bhakri was super soft. Good ambience. Would not recommend if you want authentic malvani / konkani cuisine.

It is big disappointment. Chiken they boil and keep may be refrigerated, garvy and meat had no connection. Bhakti was stale but warmed at the moment, solkadhi was biggest disaster. If you love non veg and really want to enjoy food this is not the place for you. Money wasted

It is the best place near thane station, the atmosphere is too good and the food is nice please add some more veg cuisines, non veg also very good I loved it I think best place for dine in

Konkani Haus Restaurant & Bar- Thane is located at Panch Pakhadi area and is a must visit place for the authentic Konkani delicacies lovers. They serve dazzling Konkani and Malvani dishes each curated with distinct flavours, authentic ingredients and traditional cooking techniques passed on through generations. The ambience is rustic with comfortable seating arrangements and a small chic bar. They serve multiple coastal cuisines at reasonable prices. Being a Fish lover, who misses the authentic, fresh Konkani preparations went all out and tried different types of fishes. I was extremely happy with the preparation and quality of food served. We tried: Mock tails: Virgin Mojito & Virgin Pinacolada: Both were refreshing, tasty and flavourful. Starters: Bharlela Pomfret: Fresh pomfret was stuffed with chopped prawns and tandoored to perfection. The pomfret was fresh, juicy and the spices were great. Crab tandoor: Fresh jumbo sized crab was tandoored with chef special spices. The crab was meaty, soft, delicate and sweet. Must try for crab meat lovers. Main: Surmai Gasshi with Tandul Bhakri: Jumbo sized surmai slices were cooked in coconut base curry full of flavours and spices. Tandul Bhakri was soft and the combination was great. Rawas Malwani with Butter Garlic Naan: Rawas pieces were cooked in freshly ground Malvani Masala and coconut milk. Desserts: Gulacha Kharwas & Caramel Custard: We ended our meals with the desserts straight from Konkani kitchen. Both are my weakness and were very well prepared. We were greeted and served by Mr. Namdev, who helped us to taste the best options available. The services were quick. The food quality was extremely good and preparations were authentic. A must visit place for Konkani and Malvani food lovers.

Recently visited Kokani Haus Thane. This place has one of the best Malwani food. The interiors are decorative and the seating area is absolutely comfortable. There is a wide variety of Meat and fish delicasis available. We tried Prawns lapeta and chicken banjara for starters both very absolutely delicious. super fresh and juicy. For main course we tried Gharghuti chicken with Malwani wade and chicken biryani. Gharghuti chicken was super flavourful and rich taste. Chicken biryani was so flavourful filled with soft and juicy chicken chunks. for dessert we tried gulab jamun and caramel custard. we enjoyed our meal with refreshing Mocktails.
