Kondhane Buddhist Caves - Archaeological site in Kondhane - Raigad, India

If you're looking for an adventure and happen to be in the area, I would definitely recommend Kondane Caves. However, I would caution that it may not be suitable for all age groups. Be sure to take the necessary precautions and make sure everyone in your group is comfortable with the trek before you set out. Overall, this trek was filled with beautiful sights, new memories, and meaningful connections with my loved ones.

Best trek for beginners. I would suggest you to visit in monsoon season as the greenery and waterfalls make it and absolute wonder. Be sure to carry drinking water and food as there are no stalls once u reach the top. Amazing experience, go for it

Me and my group of 18 friends visited this place last weekend.... one's you arrived at karjat station you will get share taxis from where you can reach to the base village....the base village is almost 12 km away from the station and will cost you around 85 to 100 rupees per person with the capacity of 7 people/taxi... from there you can hike a simple trek to Kondhane Caves..the views and water trails along the treks are simply breathtaking....you will witness multiple waterfalls along the trek and the best part is you can come here with your family and children's as it is an beginner friendly trek which is super easy....there are snack counters also available where you can have your tea/coffee, Maggie, bhutta(roasted corn), chips,etc..... Kondhane Caves are not something extraordinary but yet these caves are part of our history so we should respect that! Hope you will have great time here with your family and friends and please don't litter this absolute beauty

It's around half an hour Trek from the parking place to get the Caves. Small waterfalls on the way and near the caves. It's a thrilling experience overall.

It was wonderful experience to go on trekking to this buddhist caves . Trekk is upward and it takes roughly 45 min to reach till caves. Best part ia the waterfall which flows from top of caves where you can get wet and relax . Coming down only takes 10 min trekking shoes are recommended. Guides are available from the village where trekk starts and ita recommended to go woth guide only for first timers as network ia not available and carry enough water to keep you hydrated.

A must visit site for trekkers and heritage site visitors. Especially during monsoons this is bliss amongst nature. Wonderful waterfalls, Maggie noodles and chai. A great family place to be for trekking atleast upto the caves.

From Karjat railway station we got share taxi at Rs20/- to Kondawade. From there we walked 4Km to Kondhaney caves via Looni. One hour light trek from looni. On reaching the caves, waterfall was just on the entrance. Interesting terrain and caves.

Great View after the 1 hour hike but don't forget to carry water bottles as nothing is available. Best time to visit is after monsoon and winters.
