Went there with some expectations but sad to say, it was not up to the mark. We have to seat on the floor and have to eat on a flat table. We asked for a table and we were ready to wait for few minutes but they said that they cannot arrange for that, so we sat on the floor. Now coming to the service, after getting the menu they took the order from us almost after 20 minutes and recieved it almost after 30 minutes of placing the order. Now coming to the food, we ordered: Basanti Pulao: The quantity was not upto the mark depending on the price. But talking about the taste it was ok but nothing great. We can have basanti pulao of this taste in any of the restaurant in this City in cheaper price than this. Gondhoraj fried chicken: It was cold when it was served to us. It was served with kasundi which tasted better than the chicken. The chicken lost its crispness but the taste was not bad. It has a proper taste of Gondhoraj zest inside the chicken. Bhetki Bhapa: The fish fillet was small in size but the taste of the bhetki was pretty fresh and nice. It was juicy and was well cooked in the mustard gravy. But the quantity was quite disappointment for every dish. Doi Katla: This dish was served hot. The piece of the fish was served to us was not atall good. Actually this kind piece should never be served in a restaurant of this stature. It was a neck piece. But the taste of the fish was glod but the gravy was but runny in texture. The taste of it was ok. Dhakai Pora Mutton: It contains 6 pieces of mutton. The only dish which I can say that, it was perfect. The mutton was well cooked and tender in the onion juice. The taste of the gravy was very nice and it was well combined with basanti pulao. *Note: When they served us mineral water I asked them for regular water and the staff instantly replied me that they are providing it on MRP, no extra charges. Then also I asked them about the regular water but the staff was confused what to answer and eventually he said rhat that they normally don't keep regular water. According to the rules every restaurant has to provide regular water to the customers but I doubt they were aware of this law. While placing the order I asked them provide the starter item before the main course after almost half and hour they brought the main course first and when I told them that I have asked them to give me the starter before the mains, they replied that we brought all of them together. The service needs to be improved otherwise it will lost its charm

The place is very small and it doesn't give any single vibe about a Raj Bari. The Food quality was very so so. I will prefer Home Cooked food more tasty than this restaurant. I only loved the welcome drink lassi which was having a mild flavour of gandharaj lemon. It was something new I have ever tasted. My Overall Experience is The restaurant is overrated. Don't go by the reviews and ratings in google as they ask customers to rate the restaurant in front of them. No body can directly say anything in front of them and gradually the 5 start reviews increased their rating.

Went to celebrate the Aiburovat ceremony of a friend and were amazed by the hospitality and food was delicious. We opted for a Maharaja thali and basanti pulao, daab chingri and 3 mango lassi from ala carte menu, the thali had a huge spread of starters, welcome drink, rice, fish, mutton, desserts. They are keeping a touch of Bengali tradition in everything from the boron to the way they serve paan, and the decor is so beautiful. They had arranged flowers, diyas, topors for the Aiburovat ceremony without any extra charges and on top of everything - they are giving a 5% discount to everyone celebrating Aiburovat at their place! The only drawback of the place is very narrow staircase and the space to go to the above floors is congested.

Ambience is good and food was delicious. We ordered maharaja thali and aiburobhaat thali. The food was so delicious that I over ate and couldn't not try some dishes and desserts. Thank you for making my day. I will surely recommend this place for authenticatic Bengali food

By seeing good reviews I thought of trying Bengali Thali, however I was very disappointed by the food quality and quantity. Before ordering the thali, I asked the waiter clearly if we want extra rice and dal is it chargeable, he said no you can take how much you want, but you cannot share, I said okay and I ordered two different thali. However in the end he charged 120rs for extra rice which we took, felt like to slap him tight. First of all the rice quantity is very less, what do you expect we should eat all items in that little rice? Really not worth. then the fried fish which was in Katla Kalia dish had no salt, I think the chef forgot to add salt in marination before frying the fish, totally tasteless. Then the Prawns also was not cooked properly. Felt like cheated, will never recommend anyone.

The only reason they deserve the 2star rating is because of the hospitality. Food is Mediocre at best. Food: Mediocre at best. Portion Size: Very small in thali. Okay-ish in ala carte. Service: Very very slow. We waited 1 hour for them to arrange the whole thali. Ambiance: Decent. Well lit with nice calm music. Value for money: Decent. Its not overpriced considering the ambiance.

Celebrated the 25th anniversary celebration of my parents at this awesome venue! The warm welcome given by them during entry, hospitality, food quality, quantity, service and also the cake and the decorations were just outstanding! Highly recommended! Will surely love to choose this awesome venue for the future events!

The only great thing about this place is the ambience. The fish starter was stale and a very bad smell the gondhoraj chicken was good but very chewy. The desserts were extremely mediocre. The paneer pathuri was fantastic but the other dishes were dang average. Using too much oil and spices won't make your food taste better. You need to cook it to the perfection first. The fish was tasteless and the chicken was rubbery. The lassi was disgusting. They called it mango lassi but added a strange substance that would make you throw up. The pulao was perfect but the daal was extremely watery. The rice did not have ghee and the alubhaja was packaged food and not freshly made. They won't even let you take back the leftovers from the food that you ordered with your money that is they won't let you take your own food. It's not a buffet like Barbecue Nation and they are taking service charge as well as parcel charge so why can't I take back my leftovers from my thali? For a one time visit it is okayish i won't lie but it's definitely not a must try place and absolutely not a place where you'd want to come back again. Ambience: 10/10 Food: 6.5/10(Very average and too much oily some didn't have proper flavour) Service: 3/10 Value for Money: 0/10 Once again it's good for one-time experience but it's not going to ever be a go-to place like it's contemporaries if they keep this mediocrity up. For now This has to be the most overhyped overpriced and overrated eatery in all of the city of joy.
