Although it claims to be the biggest and best hospital in the city, my experience with hospitals in Delhi and Jaipur for my relatives, leads me to believe that Kokilaben Hospital falls far short of meeting those high standards. When comparing infrastructure, facilities, nursing staff, and processes, Kokilaben Hospital lags quite behind the hospitals like Max, Fortis, Apollo , Birla Escorts others in Delhi and Jaipur One of the major issues I encountered was with the nursing staff. They appeared to be relatively inexperienced, lacking the necessary expertise and knowledge. As an admitted patient, I found myself constantly reminding them to administer my medications and injections on time, such as before meals and before bedtime. They had no tracking mechanism. Unfortunately, the patient calling bell near the bed often seemed to be more for show than for practical use, as the nurses would either not show up or would arrive significantly later, unless prompted by an attendant. Additionally, to get an Ultrasound done, I was made to wait for an exhausting two hours on a chair outside the department while the scanning staff engaged in casual conversations and jokes, displaying little regard for the waiting patients. It became apparent that the overall processes within the hospital were disorganized and unsatisfactory. Another drawback to consider is the relatively higher cost of treatment at Kokilaben hospitals compared to other cities. There are unnecessary very high charges added to your bill for consumables , which are not claimable from insurance However, one area where kokilaben excels and for that matter for most of the hospitals in Mumbai, it is in the quality of its doctors. The doctors here are far superior to their counterparts in Delhi or many other parts of India. In particular, doctors in Delhi are often criticized for their greed, insensitivity, and lack of empathy, which can be a discouraging experience for patients. In contrast, Mumbai doctors are known for their empathetic and sensitive approach, as well as their extensive knowledge and sense of responsibility. In conclusion, while Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai may have highly skilled doctors, there are significant improvements needed in terms of infrastructure, processes, and the quality of nursing staff. I recently had an unfortunate experience at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital that compelled me to share my thoughts. My father-in-law was admitted for an emergency procedure, and what transpired during our visit left me deeply disheartened. Initially, we were given an estimate of Rs2,09,000 plus consumables for the procedure, but upon discharge, the cost had escalated to Rs3,57,000 - a staggering 75% increase. Seeking clarification at the billing desk, I received vague answers and was directed to the assistant doctor of the surgeon, who then asked us to wait for Dr. Mandar Deshpande. After a prolonged wait, Dr. Mandar Deshpande eventually met with us but became defensive when questioned about the unexpected cost surge. Despite my attempts to engage in a civil conversation, things turned unpleasant as Dr. Deshpande raised his voice and directed us back to the billing department. We would not believe a doctor could behave in such a manner. The situation escalated further when security was called, and my wife and I were confined to a room with the promise that someone from billing would explain the invoices. To our dismay, we were still waiting for someone to come for over 45 minutes, prompting us to consider leaving. Later, Rajashesh Savant, the senior security personnel, decided to come but immediately resorted to using foul language and even attempted to file a false FIR against us. He threatened us with a silly claim that I had kidnapped my father-in-law so that we would not pay the bill. We asked him to check the cameras that a nurse had released him, and second to think if our intention was not to pay the bill (and run away), then why would we go to the billing counter to ask for the bill to pay? Why would we just not run away without paying? I explained to him the reason my father-in-law had left a little early was because he was in pain after the surgery and he had to travel six hours to get back home, so we stayed back so that he could leave to get back home before it was too dark. When logic did not prevail, he asked his security guards to physically restriction us and attempt to seize our belongings. When tried to take pictures and videos the guard literally tried to snatch my phone by inserting his hands into my pocket. How can a medical institution employ goons like these? Ultimately, exhausted and under duress, we decided to settle the bill after intervention from a senior police officer. The entire incident unfolded in the hospital lobby, possibly captured on video. This experience has raised several concerns about the conduct of the hospital staff and the apparent lack of accountability. Seeing such behavior from a healthcare institution where open communication and understanding should be paramount is disheartening. Questions arise about the hospital's choice of personnel, particularly those who cannot engage in polite conversations and provide explanations when required. The ordeal also raises questions about the conduct of security personnel. Last but not least, observe the cleanliness when you are in the hospital. It is one the worst; besides the lobby, the wards and especially the bathrooms are not to the cleanliness standard of a medical institution. I hope to shed light on the challenges faced during my visit to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, emphasizing the need for better communication and a more patient-friendly approach from the medical and administrative staff. There are better hospitals in Mumbai, and you should consider those before considering Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

The nursing staff (inpatients after surgery) is very inexperienced & they usually are out of their wits for something as simple as a loose motion. You will find yourself getting clueless replies & looks from nurses. The cleaning staff and housekeeping staff is quite overloaded & won't be available without a 30 min wait. In case there is an emergency, doctor is not available. Only 2 rounds in morning and evening. In a nutshell, you're on your own after having surgery. If an emergency occurs, highly likely that the help you need, won't come in time. Nurses will keep looking at each other's faces & you'll fall dead.

Hospital clean and good staff but bathrooms cleaning not done. No one taking care.. it's always stinking ,no tissue papers or toilet rolls..no housekeeping supervisor around to whom we can show the dirty washroom on ground floor...the bathroom cleaner was forced to clean but she was using one cloth to wipe seat covers which can be a serious breeding ground for infection and a dirty mop which could never dry floor..no Dettol or sanitizer in or around washroom .. dirty smell all over ..wash basins equally stained and dirty and wet on the counter...we request management to immediately take action to improve condition of such a gifted hospital ...there was no suggestion box found so posting. It's a request for all the washrooms conditions to be improved for patients relatives.

[3rd Update] Rating unchanged. Left the hospital - discharge process was not difficult. But we'll struggle a bit even if there's slightly odd thing to do out of regular process. e.g. Getting a wheel chair for the patient took 40+ mins of waiting after everything was done. Other example was, patient required table fan on top of a/c as it wasn't cool enough and that required 1 & 1/2 day and scolding from the doc to respond by nurses. I am not saying nursing staff is not polite, all I am saying is at times they are too busy with priority items and are unable to manage or fulfil such lower priority tasks. We're still in hospital.. will keep posting... Beware of Mr. Jaiprakash at ICU. He's very unwelcoming and would let you in even when doc/nurse inside wanted you to be called in for specifics causing operational difficulty. Adding some allowed photos - it's of ICU waiting area. [Original Review] Phones are useless. Chaos everywhere. We've not even admitted the patient yet and humiliation have begun. You get either 4K room sharing or 8k room single nothing in between. My insurance company pre-approved partial amount so hospital is now asking for difference upfront, even though I do have top up that covers all the expenses. Yesterday we were told we'll get a call from hospital for admission, today after reaching their desk as no one would ever pick up your call they said we've to book it a day before! As if we get the patient to hospital everyday and we didn't know that process- wah!

Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital is one of the best hospitals in Mumbai and in India . Excellent infrastructure. Hospital is very clean. I've had my executive health check up over there. And I've got good experience at the hospital . Every department is marked with systematic colorful lines which you have to follow on the floor so as to commute inside hospital. No need to ask anyone unless you have colorblindness . Reception staff at EHC are very helpful and cooperative. I've gone for routine medical check up. Doctors are knowledgeable. The most important thing I like about kokilaben hospital that they sends all the reports thru mail. No hassle or waiting for the hard copy of the reports. And food is really good. You won't feel like you are eating hospital food .

It has come to my notice during my father in-laws treatment in your hospital that patients are experiencing significant delays in receiving basic hygiene cleaning of their beds after incidents of urination and vomiting. This prolonged wait not only causes discomfort but also poses potential health risks to our patients. I kindly urge you to address this issue promptly and implement measures to ensure that patients receive timely and thorough bed cleaning after such incidents. Timely hygiene is essential for their recovery and overall well-being. 1 support staff to take care of 48 patients is not enough. LOOK INTO THIS AS WE ARE PAYING MORE THEN A 7 STAR HOTEL TO YOUR HOSPITAL TO GET THE BASIC HYGIENE SERVICES .

The doctors are fine but I just overheard a part of the admin staff say "ye Ambani ka hospital hai koi mamuli clinic nahi" to a waiting patient and their attendant to ask them to continue waiting. That is not a place of healing!
