The staff was really helpful. He explained all boating options to us in detail. If you want to be a passenger on a big boat that runs on a schedule , it's 200Rs per head or you can take a small 6 seater boat for your group, which costs 1500Rs. We took the latter. The guide showed the various landmarks and points included as part of the route. It was an hour well spent on the waters, with breeze on your face and views in front of it.
You can take a tour of kochi from this jetty, which is located just the opposite of pazhayanur bhaghavathi temple. Wellington Island is clearly visible from here, where coast guard vessels are alongside the berth of Mattancherry Wharf.

I booked a house boat there. The backwater views are really amazing.
There is a boat jetty just across the road drom the Mattancherry Palace from where one can get a tourist boat ride around Fort Kochi, Ernakulam or Willingdon Island. There are some private boat operators and we can hire a motor boat for the purpose. It is very near to Jew Town as well. We did not hire from here but went to the Fort Kochi - Vypin Jankar ferry terminal which allows one to take the car on board.
