Kishangarh: A sleepy town 30 mins from Ajmer with a setting that you'd be forgiven to think it was Udaipur! A beautiful garden palace (Phool Mahal) with an imposing fort (Kishengarh Fort) as it's backdrop, and even a Lake palace (Mohan Vilas), gives it a very Udaipur like feel. The fort isn't open to public, so a private tour makes the experience even more enjoyable. It may not have the glamour of Udaipur, but then it's also not a tourist trap. The rooms are large and clean. But not as well appointed as some of the other heritage properties. The facilities are not many but the fabulous location makes up for everything else. Kishore at front desk is very efficient and responsive. He'll provide great tips for local street walks and arrange your entry into the private fort. @royalkishangarh
