This place has a rich history and is picturesque. Situated on the banks of river Kharasrota, this palace is perfect weekend getaway. You can experience the life of the royals and the local cuisine of the area. If you are an adventure seeker, then take a dip in the cold water of the river and swim or kayak to nearby island.
An exquisite historical site converted to a retreat on the bank of a river leading to a serene ambience. The perfect getaway in the midst of nature. Not too far from the city either making it easily accessible yet pleasantly offtrack. The exceptional hospitality and food was the clincher for me. A picnic site on an island in the middle of the river along with options for water sports and a bonfire bonhomie makes Killa Aul the perfect place to truly unwind.
We were, as surely all guests, wonderfully received, had a stylish room in an altogether wonderful ambience, house, surrounding nature. Here you can even relax in India !!! In addition we were wonderfully cooked .... You should have the rooms to look down to the river ...
Love this place for many more reasons... From my childhood this place is always be my fav one..... Near from my native ... There's a saying in odia which goes like "sundar trupti ra abasada nahi jete dekhuthile nua disuthathyi" Means: A thing of beauty is a joy forever: its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness....
Aul Palace (Odia: aalli raajbaattii) is situated near Aul, Odisha, Kendrapara, India. It is the official palace of the Deb dynasty who ruled here from 1590 A.D. A very ancient palace, good for tourism and you can know so many ancient things here. And good place for photo shoot.
Among all my travels in 60+ countries, this is among the top 5%. Don't expect too much luxury etc It's an off beat location We came back in 6 months and overwhelmed again. The ambience, the hospitality, the location and the food!! Outstanding Traditional oriya cooking that you can't experience anywhere else. This evening, we had fresh water prawns cooked sealed in a coconut which was roasted in a charcoal fire. Awesome The raja is a very gracious host and takes time to sit and talk with the guests and his knowledge of history, traditions and culture is exceptional.
One of the oldest and beautiful palaces of Odisha situated in Aul of kendrapada district. Now a days outsiders are not allowed to visit the palace. The palace could be well maintained.
The royal palace, it is a historical place. The ancient kings palace. It the palace of Raja (king) Sarat Dev, who was a great political leader. If you will visit here , you will get to see the old instruments, weapons and so many old age daily usable items. You can imagine how our fourfathers were working in their days, how they were using the weapons and other materials, and how they were getting punished etc. and etc. We called this place as Rajabatti. It situated in the bank of Kharasrota River. The best festival of this palace is Maa Durga Puja, the pattern of this puja is extra special as compared to other puja. Now elected MLA Mr. P.K. Dev, Aul Constitution, Of Kendrapara, Odisha, is living here, he is the younger son of Raja Sarat Dev
