One of the historic palace of the Travancore royal family, also this is the birth place of Raja Ravi Varma. The place is big, the place and the surroundings are very calm. As of March 2021, the public entry is restricted but you can watch the palace from outside.

Kilimanoor Palace is located at Kilimanoor, inTrivandrum district of Kerala. The Palace is spread over in more than 15 acres of land, and comprises the traditional residential structures of Kerala, like the Nalukettu, small and medium-sized buildings, two ponds, wells and sacred groves (kaavu). Currently the palace is in deteriorated state, and efforts are on to renovate the buildings to bring back to its original state. It is the birthplace of prince Raja Ravi Varma who is responsible for fetching Kerala a prominent place among the wizards of painting. His fame and his style of painting transcended the borders of Kerala and Ravi Varma soon got reckoned as a master painter of international repute.
Entry is restricted as the royal family resides there.. Got permission to walk around and photography was restricted.. paddy field in front of the palace looked great
The place is now maintained my Mr Rama Varma , 6the generation decencdent of The great Raja Ravi Varma. We were fortunate because he himself showed us around the places and even the personal room of the great painter. He had interesting stories to tell us regarding various paintings and even showed us the Natyangali place where dancers from southern india showed their skills
Not a complete tourist friendly area ! Its like a housing colony ! Still there is people living inside this palace ! At some certain days they will allow to visit the palace ! Other wise its not possible to visit !
