Khooni jheel is a small lake inside Kamla Nehru ridge. There is a interesting story about the naming of this jheel. During the 1857 Revolt, Britisher officers and their family took shelter inside the nearby flag staff tower to hide themselves from the wrath of the freedom fighters. But, after two days, when no British reinforcement came to rescue them. They decided to escape this place in the garb of the darkness. But as they tried to escape they were caught near the jheel by the ambushed Indian freedom fighters. They were massacred with swords and spears and thrown inside the jheel. The jheel became red as blood (Khoon). From then this jheel got its name Khooni Jheel. Now a days, people come for morning walks and exercises inside the ridge. But this khooni jheel area still looks like a huanted place. It is barricaded with barbed wires to avoid any accidents. This place is must visit for the people who are interested in exploring haunted place.

It's mostly a place with very less people. The environment is best to take out time to spend with your own self.

Nice green park... Infact a very dense park. Mostly you fill find couples there. But u can give a try... either early morning or late evening.
