One of the oldest port in Asia. Now it's named as Syama Prasad Mokherjee Port by PM Narendra Modi. It's a very old nd unique port!!!!!!!....... V r really proud it as it is in Kolkata our state. It has developed at little now with the new Bangladeshi exports of Wheat and rice.

Kidderpore Dock also known as Kolkata Port Trust was set up by East India Company in 1820's. International and interstate ships are available from here. It is busiest and oldest port in India. Overall the best port in India. Picture credits-Google.

One and only river dock at Kolkata and in India too. It's function start long ago before Kolkata has formed, after this city became the capital of british government, they modernised it and gave the shape what it's looking today. The Bascule bridge commonly known as Base bridge which is an engineering marvel is also a property of this dock. Due to a river dock, it has a depth issue from the beginning, therefore, big ships are not coming to this dock regularly but small ships and barges comes regularly and on Indian Navy day some fighter class ships also came for display.

Kolkata Docks Systems of Kolkata Port Trust is facing problems of few big merchant vessels due to riverine draught limitations.

The dock is not open for common people to view.But there is a bridge from where a glimpse of the ship,container and water can be seen.

There was no garden but the route to Kolkata docks made my voyage awesome
