A very big and ancient lotus pond at the front of the Khereswer temple...This seems to be very beautiful and awesome for their at the day light....view very good to take pictures on mobile phone...at the session on lotus flowers the pond full with it....lovely place....

This is the mythological pilgrimage site where the Lotus Reservoir of Mahabharata is still present today, where the ancient temple of Mahadev Shiva ji is located from Khereshwar. It is said about this temple that even today, the jalabhishek and worship of Mahadeva is done by Dronacharya's son Aswathama, the guru of the Pandavas of the Mahabharata period. The river Ganga flows from near the temple which is famous by the name Khereshwar Ghat.

It is a very old temple which is easily accessible except for the last part of the journey which can be a problem in monsoon as it is too muddy. Came to know of it while watching some news channel that told of a temple in shivrajpur which is visited everyday by "ashwathama" of the mahabharata era. When i visited the panditji of the temple told several tales associated with the temple. The place is very quiet. You can get flowers and offerings for shivji just outside the temple. Ganges flows nearby and there is a lake in front of the temple.
