Khandoli Dam is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the city of Giridih. The dam is located 10 km in north - east direction to the main city. The Khandoli Dam is situated at the foot of Khandoli Hill, which is 10 km away of the Dumka Town, built over the Barakar River. The area of the water reservoir is 900x6000 sqm with a depth of 21 m. and the water of the reservoir is the source of fresh water to more than one lakh local residents of the town. Entry fee: Rs.14 per person and Rs.24 for parking. Huge parking space. A stereo type park with lot of snacks sellers... The entry road was awesome. We clicked some moments on the huge boulders. Number of tourists increase in winter months for bird-watching due to the presence of migratory birds in the area. Every year thousands of migratory birds arrive at Khandoli lake by travelling thousands of kilometres. You can enjoy horse ride, boat cruise here. Boat cruise charge Rs.590 for 8 people. An amusement park is built near the lake which offers joy rides in toy train and swings. Elephant and camel safaris and numbers of other amusement facilities are available. A cafeteria is available for the convenience of visitors. A high hillock offer panoramic view of this Khandoli site. Khandoli Hill with its vast range of granite rocks with various shapes, offer varied challenges to rock climbers.

Overall good place to spend time with someone special person but i suggest visit here in winters like December and January
