Khammavati Stepwell - Historical landmark in Surat - Surat, India

Visited Aug 2019. See attached pics. Rather simple vav, But I really like these vavs, especially ones that have not been 'restored by the ASI'. To get to the vav you need to pass thru a house (see pic). The vav has been 'converted' to a mandir. I was there early morning on a rainy day so the pics are a bit dark. Worth a visit.

Entrance is looks like door so ask localities for help. The place is old, disintegrating with time. There is temple, a well supported by an ancient structure. Street is narrow so might get difficult for 4+ wheelers vehicles.

Quiet and peaceful. Broken. With an antique look. When you come out from the step well, you are shocked, for you realize how noisy the outside world is
