Khajuraho Airport is a domestic airport located in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is about 6 kilometers from the city center. The airport was opened in 1978 and is operated by the Airports Authority of India. The airport has a single runway that is 2,500 meters long and 45 meters wide. It can handle aircraft up to the size of an Airbus A320. The airport has a single terminal building that has a capacity of handling 200 passengers per hour. The airport is served by two airlines, Air India and SpiceJet. Air India operates flights to Delhi and Mumbai, while SpiceJet operates flights to Delhi, Mumbai, and Jaipur. Khajuraho Airport is a small airport, but it is well-maintained and efficient. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the security is tight. The airport is a great way to get to Khajuraho, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here is a more detailed review of Khajuraho Airport's pros and cons: Pros: Convenient location, close to the Khajuraho temples Well-maintained and efficient Friendly and helpful staff Tight security Relatively affordable Cons: Small airport, with limited facilities Only served by two airlines Flights can be infrequent, especially during the off-season Overall, Khajuraho Airport is a great option for getting to Khajuraho. It is convenient, affordable, and has friendly and helpful staff. However, it is important to keep in mind that it is a small airport with limited facilities. If you are looking for a larger airport with more options, you may want to consider flying into a different airport in the region, such as Varanasi or Lucknow.
Very beautifully made..it's huge to cater a large number of passengers. Toilets are neat and tidy. This is a newly built terminal and is in a good shape. I am not sure if they have free WiFi. As of there is one small refreshment shop which serves Tea/Coffee/Aerated water drinks and one souvenir shop.
Despite having just a couple of flights a day, this airport took hours to traverse. You need to present your boarding, pass and passport at the entrance door. After staring at it for a while the soldier lets you enter the huge, empty terminal. After waiting another hour you are allowed to get your checked bags scanned, and then you can check in. After checking in, you need to wait for another hour or so while a separate set of scanner operators mill about. Finally the signal for you to come to the scanners, a chaotic process made worse by people pushing their way to the head of the queue. After all this, you are allowed to enter the waiting area for boarding, where are you wait for another hour before walking out across the tarmac to the waiting plane. (While there are boarding gates, the single airline using this terminal doesn't appear to use them). The airport is very lacking in comfort facilities. There are a couple of tiny little snack shops. One souvenir stands. And nothing else. No restaurants. No lounges except one for "VIPs". I was told very distinctly that I was *not* allowed to use the lounge despite flying 'SpiceJet Max' class. (I got the impression that the lounge is only for politicians.) The terminal itself is very modern, but that's about it. It's modern and welcoming on the outside, but cold and empty on the inside. Whomever is running this airport does not seem to care about airline passengers or giving them a positive experience. But they seem obsessed with my boarding pass. It was checked 5 times and stamped 3 times over the last 3 hours.
Its clean and green airport just two flights a day and it remains vacant most of the time. Huge investment and results are not there.
Currently only one flight i.e. from Delhi spicejet.... which is also delayed most of the times.. only 2 food stores inside airport.. one is outside security check and another is inside.. smoking room will open only after security check in....food options are limited... for smoking people cigerette options are limited.. no nearby shop to airport no fooding facility nearby airport . Plan accordingly.... not much inside airport
Khajuraho airport deserves more flight but at the moment there is only 1 flight from Delhi, it must be connected to Varanasi and Mumbai. Airport is well maintain but poor connectivity is the huge drawback.
Khajuraho Airport is very well and nice Airport. The infrastructure of this Airport is new and all facilities are available. But the connectivity of this Airport to other airports are not very good.
Small airport, currently only 1 flight available, to Delhi..
