It's an okayish gallery. The display looks good but architecture wise it's a failure. Acoustical aspects, climate responsiveness, material selection and movement were not kept in mind while designing it. Here glasses are usually covered to do a display in the gallery which looks shabby. It gets very hot inside and everything echos. It's located in prime location of Calicut but not used properly.

The Kerala Lalithakala Akademi not only showcases exceptional talent but also provides an atmosphere of love, empathy, and support. The staff's dedication and passion for art shine through in every interaction, making it an experience that both artists and art enthusiasts alike will cherish.

Place for art lovers. The Kerala Lalithakala Akademi situated near to Town hall and Mananchira. The two storied building hosted many art events. Both halls can be used for exhibitions. Road to the hall is narrow. A SuV can go. Not much parking space.

It is a really great space for exhibition and other activities. It embraces a feel of calmness and tradition but with modern touch to its structure. The space feels a bit confusing to work around when there are multiple exhibitions at once, but still was not much of a problem, but an easy improvement that can add to the quality.

As a part of sopnachithra exhibition organised by dream of us team from kerala, i got a chance to go to kerala lalitha kala academy, Kozhikode chapter, behind town hall, near Mananchira. It was really cool and spacious place to organise exhibition like photography exhibition, painting exhibition. The walls and ramps are really helpful to make creative attraction to the visitors. As a part of the program si many visitors are come to that place and they are really impressed with the way that i located. The new renovation that make by the authorities are really praceful. Before the stare are used as dumping yard and it is really a waste of space. Certain Ngo are take the initiative to clear that and now it shows marvelously. The major issue that I have faced that in this area, it is on a shade of town hall. So it is not easy to access with the site. So only a person who know the place that can easily access. So majority of the visitors will lost find it. If anyone try to showcase and sell your creative products, please take this place for display. Regards Aslin Neroth

The Lalitha Kala Academy, the famous art gallery in Kozhikode, was opened in 2012 and comes under the Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy in Thrissur that is an autonomous organisation of the Government of Kerala though it funds the Academy and was set up in 1962 with a view to preserve and promote painting, sculpture, architecture, graphics, culture and visual arts, etc... This place is so famous between people who love art and exhibitions.any drawings,art and photo exhibitons are conducted here. The ambience is too good, even it is in the heart of the city..very neae to calicut crown theatre and mananchira .

It is a good institution with spacious galleries, with calm atmosphere, where we feel air conditioned atmosphere.All the staff of the institution are with hostagious mind.In all it is a lovable place indeed.
