Kerala Food Center (Akbar) - Kerala restaurant in Ahmedabad - Ahmadabad, India

Google maps location is quite accurate. Restaurant is on the first floor. Look for a Malayalam signboard once you reach the location or ask around. Akbar bhai moved to Ahmedabad decades back. He started this restaurant 15 years ago. He's got a limited menu (predominantly non veg, he's got meals / thali too) and does biryani on weekends. Open for lunch and dinner. Limited seating spaces. Luckily there's an AC in the dining hall. Akbar bhai is a one man show. He will take your order, make it and serve it to you too. His face lights up if he finds out you are a Malayalee. And he's happier if you like the food and return next time ;) I went with a Mallu friend who approved of the taste. Don't miss out on ordering the Puttu (was served pipping hot, too delicious, forgot to click a picture). UPI payment accepted.

The main reasons why we chose to eat at Don Chuy were because, we heard that the food was good, and the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was festive. When we arrived, we were surprised to see an empty restaurant. The host asked us where we would like to sit and we chose a booth in the back near a window. The restaurant looked like it was just pulled out of a fifties magazine. The entire restaurant was purple and white, the it was really festive, but not what you would expect from a fifties restaurant. I expected to see a Hispanic theme what we saw was a fifties diner. That wasn't bad I liked the lighting it was neon and all lit up like a Christmas tree. The best thing by far was the attentiveness of the waiter (we were the only customers). As time went on, people started to show up and the place seemed less empty. The prices were wonderful for four people to eat it was roughly forty dollars. Our meals (Janine and I) cost about twenty. Which for the amount of food we were served was great! By the time we were half way through the meal, I couldn't eat another bite! I ordered chicken fajita nachos, served with guacamole. It was delicious I loved every bite. The food was given to us fresh, hot and steamy from the kitchen

Highly underrated kerala food center, really really good authentic good kerala food. Akbar bhai makes good kerala food. I was literally crying eating good food.

A very homely place for good food, roast meats and curry, meals with fish.

Food was not as much as expected. Average taste but bit price is higher than quality. Quality has to be improved

Mallu shop.. but they are not matching their taste.. important dish is parotta.. even that is not layered .. yu can have beef here but not cooked well fish and rice is ok.. overall it is ok in terms of food but behaviour is worst

This is authentic Kerala food at most affordable price . if you are fussy about the place don't GO there
